We rescued a purebred Border Collie who was completely feral....never been in a house, never really touched by humans but kept in 8 x 10 cage in the middle of a field for breeding only. He stayed out in our yard for three days before he would even come in the house....and then he didn't know what stairs were. He was 2 yrs old at the time. Our Golden Retriever, Tonka, took this wild dog under his wing and with 2 days of coming into the house, he was house trained. He glommed onto Tonka and never left his side. He was so smart he just learned to do EVERYTHING that Tonka did. Our beautiful old boy Tonka lived to be 22 years old and passed away 2 yrs ago. Lucan (the border collie) was never the same after that. He mourned Tonka terribly and passed away six months later at the age of 11. I truly believe it was from a broken heart.

You are so amazing with your rescues... you don't just look after them. You really show them the love they've never had before, with all the kisses and cuddles every dog has the right to have❤. It's a great thing to rescue dogs, but you give these little Earth Angels that extra affection that isn't always possible in a shelter. Rusa is gorgeous, and I'd love to be able to have her, but I already belong to a little spaniel and a little brown mongrel, both rescues. God bless you for your kindness to these beautiful souls ❤.

Thank you soooooo much for fostering!! The amount of progress you've helped Rosa make in a week is spectacular! I think people that keep commenting about keeping her just don't know or understand the crisis going on in so many countries this year with shelters being completely overpopulated and overwhelmed. That's why foster families like you guys are more important than ever, you guys are really angels! It's also easy to see how well trained and socialized your two dogs are so no doubt you're gonna do great at bringing success to all the fosters that come through your doors and their forever families ❤
@thegoldenkobefamily6 ай бұрын
Thank you! It is hard, because she has bonded with us and our dogs but what you’ve said is completely correct. Shelters are actually declining dogs because they’re so full, and we’re making sure she goes to a loving family, not just anyone that offers to take her. Thank you for understanding 🙏

You are fantastic foster parents, and the progress Rusa made in only a week was so good to see. However, I wasn’t quite prepared that she’s a foster, but hopefully she will move into a forever home with a family which is as loving and empathetic as you are, and hopefully you’ll be able to keep in contact with her eventual new family. It is heartbreaking that she’ll be separated from her new found playmates, though. Cheers for your wonderful work and excellently produced videos.

@@treehouse2902 Let me tell you from my own experience. We had already 2 big dogs(both Rottweilers) when we started fostering for our local shelter. Our 2nd foster dog was a little JRT/Corgi mix being already 12yrs old. Our 2 kids and the dogs love her to pieces. And by day 10 we decided to foster fail. And keeping the little nugget. Since then we fostered another 7 dogs. TBH if you manage 3 dogs in your household a 4th isnt that big of a deal. We are lucky to have the finances to afford it. Be it food or medical treatment. Lili is the queen of our house. She runs the pack and helps a lot when we take in new fosters. She is so calm and relaxed. Which makes it easy for the new arriving fosters to sattle in. She shows them the ropes and "the do´s and dont´s". For the first couple days we usualy introduce only Lili to the new arrived fosters. When they decompressed and feeling safe we start to introduced the 2 big goofballs. When they play a bit to rough or "overwhelm" the newcomer Lili steps in and handles the situation perfectly. Moral of the story. If you got enough room in your house. A garden and the finances it realy doesnt matter if you got 2,3 or 4 dogs. 🥰🐶

@@treehouse2902exactly. Nothing wrong with a foster fail, but that’s not the goal. I think Rusa will thrive in any loving home, as long as she has some fur brothers or sisters. The work these 2 have done with her is remarkable. The change in her attitude & demeanor in just one week is spectacular!
