Great photo montage. Emmylou met Linda in 1973 in Houston when they were both performing there separately. Linda recorded Anna McGarrigle's Heart Like a Wheel in 1974 for her album named after the song. I do not know when Emmy first met the McGarrigles.

Emmylou first released a K&A song on record when TRIO record Kate's "I cried for us" (re-named "I've had enough") in 1987. She then released songs by them in 1989, 95, 2003, 2008. I'm guessing early to mid-80s is a resonable time frame for when they met.
