i'm pretty sure they have upgraded the cartridge's memory just like as Donkey Kong Country on SNES developers did. Adding a memory chip allows to do fancy colors and smooth movements.

its so hard to find good ones though, or maybe im just biased and cant enjoy something as much as when i was younger. the only rpgs of this "style" i cant think of that are on a similar level to golden sun are chrono trigger and mardek. most final fantasy games dont even come close. ff has a more manufactured feel to me, tbh. paper mario ttyd is also great but very different gameplay/appearance. planescape torment has an amazing story, but its barely even an rpg

This game and it's soundtrack. Like. If you weren't there and 10 or 12 when it came out on the OG Gba with no backlight. Man, u missed out. This game defined, in a way, who I am as a gamer. Man that's exactly the same thing that happened to me. I got introduced to the saga with The Lost Age, my mum just picked it cause she thought it looked like something I'd enjoy. Upon playing it and realising it was a sequel I went to my usual game shop to get the og GS. Best. Decision. Ever.

I love this game. I played it when I was 8 in 2003, and now that I'm 23 I have decided to play it again for curiosity and I can't stop ah ah. I will finish it, even if it will took many time because of my studies. I love this soundtrack as I love the story of Golden Sun in general. Rather amazing to consider this game began as intended to be a N64 RPG, and then Camelot not only made the seeming crazy decision to turn what would have been a home console RPG into a GBA RPG, but successfully did so, even though they had to split the game across two entries to get it to work.

agbplay has a very accurate reimplementation of the GS synth sounds. The functionality was directly translated from the original assembler code. The only difference is that my code uses floating point precision. Also, they will sound even smoother than the original game because I rendered everything at 384kHz and then downsampled everything to 48kHz which significantly reduced aliasing of the square and pulse waves.

How come there are variation in titles compare to others? Like Ending scene here is what others call "Golden sun rises" but you have that title for another song. Likewise some call your "I'll show you" for "Having fun" a little messy when people mix titles between each others xD
