@@thatdiversegamer9772'd like to see them release a remake of the first two games with some new gameplay elements such as random quicktime events for melee attacks and maybe touch-screen input for psynergy outside of battle; tri-elemental summons; more aggressive AI with enemies focussing on teamwork to cause as much damage as possible before being downed; bosses with large arsenals of attacks; the ability to fast-travel; characters and players being able to skip a turn in order to make 2 actions in the next turn; a more nuanced form of Djinn Storm which only puts half your djinn into recovery Also, in all future installments, the silent protagonist tradition should go. It doesn;t add anything to the story, and a speaking protagonist would greatly aid in character development, as would a flashback or two into the childhood friendships between Isaac, Felix, Jenna and Garet.

I remember my Link Battles against my cousin. Tisiphone Edge and Atropos Rod were my main weapons. I used to be so lucky with their procs; insta-kills and 9 arrow volleys were so addicting to the point that my cousin started doing them to me. They are still my fav weapons to this day. I’m hoping for a port/HD remaster of GS 1+2 to the Switch someday.

It's funny. I'm replaying the series on my Wii U. And I just today, saw this video. It is my favorite JRPG/RPG/favorite All time game series. The story is phenomenal and the battle sequences are amazing. I tell all my friends about it, and they look at me like, "what are you talking about." I remember waiting for Golden Sun: The Lost Age to come out. I played the ever loving hell out of it, when it did. When Dark Dawn was announced, I flipped my shit, and was so happy that to build my self-hype, i replayed 1&2, AND preordered Dark Dawn. Yeah, I'm making this comment only three minutes in, but I'm glad that there are others that love it as much as I do.

For finding the Djinn in the wild there is a "secret" clue: if a yellow road on the worldmap doesn't bring you to a town or a cave but it brings you to normal trees there you can find a Djinn ;D I loved this game as a child, I wish it returns for the switch somehow. Nice video!/

The game not telling you where you had to go and what you had to do all the time is actually a subjective thing. To me it's a positive characteristic, as it makes it challenging and forces you to go out and explore. A lot of games these days treat players like idiots and spoon feed them everything.

Sometimes I take breaks from games for a bit, and then I forget what to do, I like Golden Sun: Dark Dawn for a lot of things, and a big thing to that is it reminds you what to do with a somewhat cryptic hint, I wish they would have done that in Golden Sun 1 and 2, I wish it would remind me sometimes with cryptic hints, or a riddle.

yuuuup so much this, I at least wish modern games gave you the option to turn off the handholding, the big golden quest markers, little ledges glowing because god forbid you have to search for it. Maps with little dots guiding you every step of the way like a good little doggy. Some people don't mind it and that's fine but options people options! leme turn it off :( (witcher 3 allowed you to turn some of this off at least so credit where its due, playing that game without a map made it so much better for me. Thank god for the souls series. I felt like I was swimming for days underwater and when demons souls released I could come up for a breath lol.

I'm pretty sure golden sun dark dawn is already on the 3ds... I played it myself a few years ago. Look it up and get yourself a copy but beware, dark dawn is hard to find and buy nowadays.

Golden Sun Dark dawn is for the DS not 3ds, also they could have waited and made it for the 3ds as it has not aged well. Game is not hard to find, you can get it for 20 to 30 bucks. I have a original copy, such a let down of a game for a GS game.

Dark Dawn was the game that introduced me to the franchise and I loved it. I kept getting drawn to it for some reason until I finally bought it. I finished the game multiple times and got all characters to the max level, along with having almost all the items in the game. Too bad we don't have a bank.

About NPC : "Some of them are kind of charming". Yeah, that's what makes this game. A whole amazing world with a LOT of NPCs with a WHOLE story to themselves. Not just NPCs that serve your quest blindly.

Btw : YEAH, GS + GS:LA are my favourite games ever. Can't find another game that amazing.

Golden sun was my first RPG experience ever. I was about 9 years old when I got my hands on GS. It was a gift from my older cousin he didn't like it because he thought it was too hard. I got it and instantly fell in love with it. The world, the story, the music, the combat, etc. The GS series holds a very special place in my childhood.

Difficulty is a problem for all rpgs. The problem is the developers need to account for how much optional stuff the player is going to do along the way. A difficulty setting would be nice, but besides that, I think the problem with Golden Sun is there's not enough endgame stuff to do. I'm a big fan of when games add in super bosses which are only possible if you truly master the combat system. Nothing really gets to that point in Golden Sun imo.

The reason why you can access Crossbone Island early via the Tolby ferry and it stops you half way through is because your technically supposed to go to the island at that point. All the gear you find there is scaled for that point in the story. The Mystery Blade is completely useless if you get it if you take the storm lizard

Easily one of my favorite games of all time. Honestly the story kind of blew me away (maybe I'm looking at it with rose colored glasses, but...). SPOILERS I loved how in the first game your goal is to STOP the lighthouses from being lit, but then you discover you actually NEED to light them in the second and do just that. I only wish they made the Wise One truly evil and that would have been EPIC!!!

With the 20th anniversary later this year, I finally replayed both GBA Games since 2008, and it was a blast replaying the First Golden Sun. I cannot begin to explain how many hours I put into it on multiple save files. Like its the perfect length for an RPG and the Djinn Class system is just deep enough to mess around that it adds a lot of replayability. I hope we get to see something Golden Sun related for the 20th birthday, even if its just a Remake (or even a port, im this desperate for acknowledgement Camelot) its definitely a series I think most people should take a look at.

I started play this when I was 8 or 9 I finally beat the game yesterday.... I am 17. This game has always been a favorite of mine since finding out about it. I would recommend anyone to play it if you love a story rich game. And the second game, The Lost Age, is amazing as well, but the 3rd one, The Dark Dawn, is not the same as the first two and watching some of the game play really confused me. All of that said, the first two games of the series are phenomenal!

My 1st time going through the Lamakan Desert i didn't know there were hidden oasis. So what I did was I let the meter fill andwas healing like no tomorrow to get through it. It was one of the most intense parts of the game to me and getting past it made me as the player feel like I did something that only that group could do compared to the rest of the characters in the game.

The battle engine of Beyond the Beyond was carried over to Golden Sun, minus the active play system.

use normal attacks. *BOOM* impales enemy with massive exploding sword dropping from the sky.. i love this game.

You know when a djin is on the world map because you can hear his cry thats what i noticed after my 30 so new game plus playthroughs :)
