In regards to the iconic ping sound, I could be talking out of my ass here but I don't think that that is the exact sound used, at least in the game soundtrack. If I recall correctly, in the original game soundtrack that ping was a tambourine extremely down pitched with a lot of reverb added to it. The ping sound here sounds similar but not quite the same

Can you explain what you mean by "re-recording"? Did you get a hold of the original source and modify it or did you make your own theatrical version based on game music? How did you actually manage to pull off getting a license for the various games? Thanks.

I orchestrated re-recorded it from the ground up based on the original source material and then obtained a license from soundrop. All of my releases are licensed so the original artist gets their rightful cut of anything made from album sales / listens.

Capt_Blakhelm I use a third party site called soundrop. For a small fee, they take care of any and all licensing of tunes and see that the original artists get their cut! Its much easier than it used to be.

A ton. For this album I used the following: DAW - reaper Brass - Cinebrass Strings - spitfire (mural, albions), project sam symphobia Synth - uhe Zebra Theres a few other libraries used too, but I cant remember specifics.

@@abysmalvsmarcus Nope. You need professional level sample libraries to achieve something remotely like this. Ive been doing this full time for 15 years and have a crazy collection of libraries. But all of those bits of software you mentioned are great places to start....and you have to start somewhere.

It wasn’t a real orchestra, and completely done using sample libraries. The only live instrument is the guitar work, which I played myself.
