When I was a kid, Pierce Brosnan was going strong as Bond, so perhaps because of that, I feel more strongly connected to him than any other Bonds that came before or after. Scenes like this always bring a smile to my face. Everyone's entitled to their opinions and you can like best whoever you want (even Lazenby), but for me, Pierce Brosnan will always be Bond as he was meant to be. Completely biased because of childhood memories and I won't deny it, but still how I feel about it.

I must be really old because I remember him as Remington Steele! But I agree, I really enjoyed him as Bond. I really liked Sean too, tolerated Moore. Lazenby and Dalton... meh... Craig I was impressed with, but in a totally different direction. But all told, Goldeneye was definitely one of my favorite Bond movies! (as were the ridiculous number of hours playing N64 deathmatch in college!)

It doesn’t have to be just one actor. When I was a kid, Moore was getting old, but we preferred him in his younger form. Then as an adult I preferred Connery for many years. Brosnan was a breath of fresh air at first, but the films became nonsensical and he was always too skinny somehow. Likewise Craig introduced a new energy at first in Casino Royale, but became old and flavourless in the end. Now I’m back to preferring Moore again. He had the right balance of class, humour, and coldness when needed.

JB is a specific type of person. Tall slim charming playful and when required can jump into action, like brosnan, Moore, Connery etc. Craig is not like them. He is stocky uncomfortable serious and always on the edge.

Don't get me wrong : These Bond movies could still have some serious moments, and death and sad stuff too but overall we knew we were going to enjoy ourselves...I really miss that... That's why I think he's the best Bond : he's playful, sometimes vulnerable (when Paris is killed for example), doesn't treat women like objects and interact with M and Q the way a teen interacts with his parents. And his twisted friendship with Zukovsky was very interesting : they were enemies but Bond spared his life.

Yes, I miss when the actor playing Bond was capable of smiling occasionally and looking chill, col and relaxed...rather than constantly miserable, angry, stiff and awkward. Craig is perpetually trying desperately hard to look like he's Bond...rather than simply BEING someone who naturally embodies the character like Connery or Brosnan.

PB's Bond and Q had a nice relationship. There was a noticeable sadness at Desmond LLewlyn's final appearance as Q and the discussion of retirement. He was Q in 17 Bond films over 35+ year period and died just 3 weeks after the premiere of his final Bond film. Also, I like to think that PB's Bond was actually Thomas Crown on vacation.

Brosnan was the most well-rounded Bond. Confident, capable, and happy in the role without Moore's pretensiousness.

Disappointingly, we never got to see much of the car's gadgets in use in this movie. Like a Chekov's Gun that's never fired.

There have been some great Bond actors, but as for the charactee written about in Ian Fleming's books, Brosnan fits the physical description closer than any.

Incidentally, during the filming of Die Another Day, Halle Berry choked on her food and Pierce had to do the Heimlich maenouver on her. When she asked him where he'd learned it, Brosnan replied "Filming Mrs Doubtfire!"
