elamplough1 Its sad but true. GoldenEye was his best film. The last few were truly terrible :(
@MrNiceguy32109 жыл бұрын
Josh Charlie I liked all of Brosnan's movies, but GoldenEye just had that thing about it. The first movie to not be written by the actual creator of 007, and it was actually really good. The combination of that bungee jump (which i hear was a record breaking jump), and that new gunbarrel intro after 6 years of no 007 movies, it is just amazing. The atmosphere and music really made this one the best 007 movie for me. Die Another Day was one of the worst 007 movies, but I still like it. Too bad he was getting too old for the role. I would have liked it more if he did Casino Royale. It kinda sucks how his first movie was his best, because when you have the best one first, it's hard to not have higher expectations for everything prior to it. Even though the writing was somehow not as good for the other James Bond movies, Brosnan made them all worth watching because he was actually really good for the role.

Goldeneye was based on a screenplay originally written and adapted for Timothy Dalton's third Bond film, but it got delayed so much that he bowed out. You can clearly tell how much more carefully thought-out and hard edged the film is compared to Brosnan's others which became more and more like lame late Roger Moore style farce movies.

The film just had it’s own... I don’t know how to describe it... vibe? @@garrymullins Correct, it was all stuntman Wayne Micheals. In fairness the only time it’s blatantly obvious is in the close-up shot of the jump, you can just about see now that it’s him thanks to the Blu-Ray. Surprisingly in the overhead angle just before he jumps, you can’t really tell, it’s a very well shot scene, and as the original commenter pointed out, does a great job at hiding Bond, even if it was also to hide a stuntman.

I was like 7 or 8 when the Goldeneye game came out on the N64. This was well before internet was widely available and we were lucky to have the game at all, let alone being able to afford the guides or even if we did having the patience to read them. For whatever reason we couldn't figure out how to beat the 2nd level Facility even on Agent mode (aka Easy). So we watched this movie and thought that it would help us crack the code and figure out how to beat the level and UNBELIEVABLY it did. We discovered we had to destroy the gas canisters and from there it was just a matter of figuring out how to do that.
