Dan Blocker played Hoss Cartwright as a gentle giant that clearly was special for me and even now at 72, Bonanza was a pivotal show in expressing core values to grow up with enjoying each character for so many reasons... May each rest in Peace enjoying the Love and Mercy of Our Lord through the intercession of Our Blessed Mother and Saint Joseph...

He did a tv movie that year. His body was bigger than ever. He was huge! Sad. He died right after that.

Dirk Blocker, Dan's son also died young I believe. Loved Dan's character in the "cockeyed Cowboys of Calico County," a fun western comedy. With a great cast like Jack Cassidy, Jim Bacus, Mickey Rooney, Noah Berry and one of my favorite actors Wally Cox. Sadly he passed away a year after Dan in 1973. All the greats seem to die young 🪦🪦.

That was an overly meticulous narrator repeating stuff. Dan was a great actor and died too young. Not healthy.
