I love this deck! I didn't have the wildcards to craft all the mythic dragons so I used some Demanding Dragons instead, but they work pretty well too. I really love how using Dragon's Hoard gives you access to all these different colours without screwing up your mana base super hard. As others have said though maybe I'd ditch the settles since the WW requirement is pretty tricky.

Thats a LOT of legendaries though between Verix, Karox, Lathliss, and Sarkhan. Nice run considering a 5c deck might lose consistency. Did you think about a new version of Jeskai taking turns? Is Sarkhan, Dragonsoul not legal in standard? Can't see any reason not to run at least one in Arena
@Kestral2876 жыл бұрын
It's legal, it's just very bad. Six mana for a plus that's irrelevant in most matchups is already an auto-drop for almost any planeswalker, but you add in a very mediocre minus and the card becomes unplayable. The ultimate is flashy, but a flashy ultimate that you have to spend six mana and two turns doing nothing to get to isn't a good ultimate.

@MTGGoldfish6 жыл бұрын
Yeah, their sideboard plan got it good.
@bmschmitzer6 жыл бұрын
@Atmapalazzo Agreed. The mistake was in your sequencing.. 1) The obvious error in not removing the War Boss before it was able to take over the game, and 2) Exposing yourself to the likely play pattern of your opponent removing your dragon (Jeskai has multiple ways it can do that) and going to town with the Goblin.. You probably could have had several more turns to draw into more action and might have even put yourself in a position to win that game, despite the admittedly favorable draw from your opponent.

At some point it just doesn't matter in our deck since we have so few cards on the splash, but in general your right, there's not much of a downside to keeping the dual land in Standard (in this deck discarding non-Mountains/Islands makes sense though, probably shouldn't have played the off-color basics at all honestly).

I feel like control in its latest iterations in modern and standard are more of an “unfair” deck than the “fair” decks they used to be. Feels like you don’t have to manage resources very much anymore, definitely shows in some of these games.
@SilverAlex926 жыл бұрын
this isn't a control deck tho, its a dragon decks with early game removal. Control would be something like jeskai/izzet/dimir all whom play a lot of counters, wraths, removals, and a couple of finishers
@BudgetDiety6 жыл бұрын
Alejandro Arturo Pumpido I know that, I was referring to the control decks he played against, maybe I should’ve clarified!
@khub56606 жыл бұрын
Alex Laureyns control is all about resource management. You’re constantly refilling and emptying your hand, filtering your deck with Azcanta or Treasure Map, dealing with what’s on board, dealing with your opponent casting things, working your way to your own win conditions in Ral, Teferi, or Niv-Mizzet. I play control a lot myself and while it is strong this Standard, it is still beatable. If you look at the Pro Tour and most of the GP results, you will see that’s the case.
@BudgetDiety6 жыл бұрын
Ze Filthiest Of Franks well it’s traditionally been a lot about resource management but the past few sets card advantage engines like azcanta and teferi are so out of control busted often times control decks can just 1 for 1 their opponents into oblivion, and just have either one refill their hand. In years past they’ve had tools like that be large mana sinks or 6+ mana, and draw effects on planes walkers were never plus abilities for a reason. Definitely feels as though it’s lost it’s way, at least from where I’m standing.
@omegagaming6096 жыл бұрын
