I know this was 8 years ago but I had to tell you how wonderful you are. I know a lot of people look at fish as useless and dumb I for one know that they can be insanely smart. I have cichlids and If they got sick id do anything i can for them same goes for my daughters mollies and frogs. to me they became apart of our family as much as the cat has and they will be missed when they pass away.

I find it rather idiotic that people keep saying "it's just a goldfish oh my god it isn't alive its too small and helpless to actually have a life" like goldfish aren't living creatures just like us humans. Just because they live underwater and are smaller than us and look different doesn't mean they are any less Alive than you. You can't just say something isn't a living being with feelings just because you don't understand them. That's like giant aliens saying you aren't alive and should be left to die. What if you didn't get medical attention while extremely sick because you're 'just a human'. It doesn't matter if you die because we'll just throw you out and get a new human. It wouldn't feel very good now, would it?

My whole thoughts during this video was... It's just a goldfish. But I do realize that I would of done the same for my pet if it was in danger of dying. I smile when I see pet owners doing this for their own pet. It's love and friendship that you have connected with your pet you treat it as your own as if it was a real human baby. It's amazing.

It's a goldfish. Feed it to a real pet, and get a new one. Save yourself the time and money.
@ChaosBW9 жыл бұрын
Lindsey Kay Yes, somebody feeds a small invaluable fish to a turtle, so you say I, a priceless irreplaceable human being, should be fed to a shark, and you see no problem with your logic. If you see no more value in human life than a goldfish I am baffled how you are alive at all today while their are hundreds of animals more valuable than you dying every minute that you could sacrifice yourself to save by your logic. State some facts? No, you shit from your mouth. Every moron knows what a living animal is, only human beings are intelligent enough to see their purpose and value in the bigger picture. You are no more arguing than my turtle can fly, you are merely spewing the same filth you began with.

Babby Babbyson you shouldn't own pets especially not Reeves turtle since you torture animals and you don't feed them an healthy diet.goldfish are junk when it come to nutrition and live feeding is a huge risk for disease introduction and really isn't necessary for an animal that lives in captivity that won't ever live in the dammed wild. also goldfish do have personalities and are the dogs of the fish world with a rated intelligence level at the level of a puppy.
@lyndaleoliver-musto2310 жыл бұрын
Thank you so much for sharing that. You must love your fish very much. My son has a pet goldfish whom he loves very much and I'm looking around our area to see if there are any vets that specialise. My sister had a goldfish which grew a tumour so large that it bulged from either side of the poor creature. It made me sick with anger to see the poor thing. Fish can't say "please help, it hurts."
@lyndaleoliver-musto2310 жыл бұрын
A thought has occurred to me, after just posting, typically. You mentioned the other two fish were nibbling at the tumour? I don't know if it is possible but might they have sensed that it was harming their friend and were actually trying to remove the tumour, surgery in the only way a fish knows how?
@sophiafrigoli10 жыл бұрын
Lyndale Oliver-Musto most likely cannibalism
@lyndaleoliver-musto239 жыл бұрын
Thank you, Sophia and Derped. I know that fish will eat dead tank mates and that some species will attack any other fish in the tank, but I didn't know that goldfish would do it. Do you know why the attacks started at the tumour? I would have thought that the fish would avoid the "tainted" area. Thanks.

And both fish swam off like a rocket after I let them go. I had brought them home in a large ice chest filled with pond water and then when I got home, put some ice cubes in there b/c they are cold water fish and bottom feeders and put them back, making sure the were still highly active and they were swimming like crazy and zoomed off when I brought them back to the pond. Darn! I shouldn't sampled the pond water and tested it too like most fish doctors do. So much to discover & learn.

*Sniff* That really was beautiful. I'm so glad he came through it okay, and that you are a decent and compassionate enough human being to help him in the first place instead of flushing him down the toilet. I've always wondered if surgery could be performed on fish, and I suppose now I have my answer. This might sound crazy. Fancy goldfish, Comet goldfish and the well known "koi" fish can live to be over 20 years old, and over those years, if fed and kept correctly, develop personalities and even recognize owners with or without food in hand. Yes, they are fish and can be quite precious to their owners. Unlike some people who take the lives of these poor animals for granted and treat them as disposable toys.
