Alison goldfrapp Is an inspiration and gives hope to those who have not made it young....she was 35 when this came out ..her debut....she's been wildly successful since....its a myth that you have to make it by 25 or you'll never make it/be left out in the cold forever......
@92RedRevolver3 жыл бұрын
I'm glad she got over that too, she famously wouldn't talk about her age for a long time, possibly shame. She shouldn't be ashamed, her life has shaped this beautiful woman and her relationship with her own raw talent. I'm not saying she should be actively grateful for the shit, but yeah, don't be embarassed because you're x age and not got a record deal. What about those Fisherman Friends guys, even? They were in their sixties and seventies when they did their debut album!

They used it in a car ad back then here in Argentina, can't remember if it was Peugeot or Chevrolet, but sure was one of those two; big hit, everyone was asking what song was that, it was some kind of silly pride to tell them it was Goldfrapp and I had (still have) the album. Sadly, when they came in 2011, they didn't played it 😤🤷♂, they played all their upbeat hits instead, maybe to make the audience forget about the rain ("organizers" still program outdor shows in november when it's one of the most rainy months in the year 🤦♂), but the rain and the V.I.P. section (more interested in champagne and socialize than in the artists) that was between the band and the real audience made it an awkward show 🤷♂.
@michaellorenzen8200 Жыл бұрын
@@nunc-hic-stans4211that's a bummer about the "rainy concert" I have always preferred this LP to Goldfrapp's others now don't get me wrong I enjoy their "disco dance songs" Will Gregory is such a subtle genius and the way he manipulates Allison's voice is incredible and of course Allison could probably sing operatic music (her mother wanted her to) but Felt Mountain blew my mind the first time I listened to it I immediately thought of old Sean Connery James Bond movies and still do today ! it's very rare in the US to find another person man or woman that even know of this group if you do lots of conversations tend to happen I'm glad someone down south enjoys this music as much as I do👍ps. Allison has released a solo LP that is more dance oriented however it's very good oh pps. Madonna had stated that Goldfrapp's music was her inspiration for "Confessions on the Dancefloor"
