I'm thinking the sus wall in SHG just gives you a vantage point if you want to use spells or bows against the imps. You could probably agro the shaded imp and lure it to the light even while you're up there. Or Miyazaki has hidden something else there that no one has yet found lol

Discus of light is my favorite spell In The game . I get some pretty good damage out of it. Only downside going that route is how many points you need to invest in both INT and faith but you get some pretty high damage numbers . And the discus spells can go through multiple targets. 10/10

I carried the Black Knife as a backup weapon right to the end. I always opened with it in a boss fight.

Yes all the dark souls games have had a ring of steel protection which gives physical DR. So it's not a new thing.

"Why is there a zombie-filled lake here?" Well, it is a great big world that needs to be filled with something. Not all of it necessarily means anything in particular in any one place. The whole lands are blighted with death and decay of one sort or another, so I think it seems fitting to encounter the dead and decaying anywhere.
