Novas in this body style are so cool. A neighbor of mine use to build those cars, and I tell ya they were bad ass cruising down the road. They were built like yours, light weight and they could run with anything around. They were respected and maybe even feared in the hood. Great job. JT.

Thanks @user. I love them too. When the 327 was introduced in 1962 we thought it was a big engine and compared to the 283 it was. My first one was in 1966 when I replaced the 283 automatic in my 1962 Bel Air bubble top with a 327 and 4 speed transmission from a wrecked Chevelle. I put an L79 cam in it and 3.55 gears out of a truck thought it was a rocket. I was 17. AG

Sounds great! The comments stating it sounds like crap,they have no idea whats its suppose to sound like. Its supposed to sound "choppy". I bet they don't like a blower surge sound either.

You're right. I tuned the blower surge out of my 4-71. Sounds like crap along with mutual tumor cams.

Set her at 18° initial and 18° advanced by 3000 and idle at 1000. Man this cam rips hard if you know how to tune it😎

Thanks for your input 808 Tait. I always set timing at full advance. usually 34-36 degrees gets max HP on the dyno, but I did not dyno this one.

Thanks for the question. I looked at my records and unfortunately I gave the invoice to the customer in his book of documents, however I did purchase it from Summit. It was the mildest muther thumper roller cam of three available as I recall. Pretty sure it was Comp Cams. hope this helps, good luck with your 327.

It's a thumpr...they make noise. Put in something like a Howards 111221-10. As a bonus, I bet he'd find his carburetor easier to tune.
