@David No, they're different from the 60s, back then it was called a 3/4 cam, or three quarter race cam. My dad had one in his 1967 camaro. "Iski" cams were the thing back then. Flowmaster wasn't born yet, everyone had cherry bomb or thrush glass packs. good times, I miss those days.

I can tell that’s gonna be a beautiful ride! The detail is awesome! That frame looks really good! So does the engine where you sanded it down and filled it with epoxy primer and such. Really good job. I’m tempted to paint my stroker that color! Here’s a piece of advice though; I know you want to hear it idle and all after you break the cam in but it’s really important to check the pushrods as soon as you’re done with that 15-20 minute run in. Shut her down, take the valve covers off, mark the pushrods, and make sure they’re spinning. Make sure you didn’t wipe out a cam lobe. Very important. Besides that it’s an awesome ride! Really cool!

Sounds and looks AWESOME !!!! Just a "heads up" on the "Pertronix Flame Thrower". We built a similar engine (283 with a custom ground cam in a 57 210 Sport Coupe) and used the Pertronix Flame Thrower distributor and coil. Like you, started it and set the timing at 12 degrees with a "dial up" timing light. It ran great on the stand. In the car, however, it was having a really hard time getting the car moving from a dead stop. Once moving it was great. Originally thought the issue was a too big/fat carburetor so began a process of "tuning" the Edelbrock Performer carb. Edelbrock tuning kit, step up springs, metering rods, and jets leaned it down by +- 15 percent while bumping the timing to 16 degrees made it better but still not right. Ultimately installed a AFR gauge and verified our carb settings. Two months in, finally got the answer when I installed a "points" type distributor and set the timing. The issue about went away. Talked to Pertronix tech who told me "DO NOT USE A DIAL UP TIMING LIGHT WITH THE FLAME THROWER" !! The Flame Thrower creates a MSD (Multiple Spark Discharge) ignition that "fools" the dial up light so you aren't getting the advance you think. "Use a cheap (Non dial up) light to set your initial timing" !! I have mine set at 18 degrees (with no vacuum to the advance) and the engine loves it!!! Absolutely NO issues associated with the timing. New points and condenser with dwell set at 30 degrees so, for now, I'm keeping the points distributor. will change back to the electronic later. Again, just a "heads up" to try to save you two months of "hair pulling" !!

That right there kids,is the sound of pure happiness and glory.........oh wait im still a kid. Im 16 😇 -Edit im now 18 and now i got my own 87 chevy r10 i got for a good deal, now im building up the motor with a almost all black theme with polished accents here and there like my valve covers since they have little ribs that i had to polishe same with my intake manifold were it says edelbrock and what not, block is all orange since i still wanna see any possible leaks but with all the felpro gaskets i put on it with some black rtv here and there and gasket sealant as well to dress up the paper looking gaskets it hopefully shouldn't leak......hopefully... ._. But the engine is a stock 350TBI now a 355 since it had been rebuilt with a small cam since again its a stock motor with the worst heads possible since its a TBI forgot the specs of said cam but it will have some lope/chop to it :D ,now im just saving up for the holley midmount accessory drive kit in black ofcourse should be able to buy it super quick since i got a really good job that pays really well and it might end up being my career maybe Another thing to top it off is that all the hardware on this baby is nice quality ARP hardware to go with the new and freshened up parts on there :D one of my favorite things about my motor :D i would list the parts i bought and some that i restored and painted but its basically almost ready to drop in once i freshen up some of the drivetrain and find the wiring for the truck thats somewhere ...........

@@ACDesignsGarage Hi guys, I am a 68 year old man, I was born and raised in the mechanical field, my productive years I worked for cummins engine company, now I am in PR playing with a new innovation of ultralight transportation on a vertical & landing way, most of you have seen pictures and videos of what people call ufo, some of them are just a modified helicopter, nothing else with a very cute fuselage that makes them so unic enough to tear off anyone imagination but trust me when I tell you, it is just a helicopter, the whole aircraft works with aerodynamics but your toy stole my heart, from Puerto Rico. ...Jesus Torres.

I guarantee you that you have 100 percent all tha is required to built a flying saucer, trust me when I tell you that it will take less than $ 7000.00 dollars to built one, it really doesn't take that much, just think about it for a few minutes, we have the parts already in the market, we have the tools, we have the know-how, all we need is seat down, get a picture of any actual flying saucer and you will see that they are putting it right before our eyes and most people can't figure it out whe it is right on front of them, just sit down on front of it and look it up, you won't believe your eyes.

I think that I purchased the same motor from jegs. Assembled in Mexico. For 1984 Chevy c-20. Original air cleaner had decal stating timing to be 4 degrees. New engine ran terrible at that setting. Reset timing by ear and ran better. The setting by ear threw the timing light way off. Engine still running good. Wish I would have purchased the cam you have. Motor sounds great. The neighbor wanted $350 for an 79' Oldsmobile Omega 4 door. I made $270 a week and said, this is all I have. He said O.K. if he didn't sell it he was going to enter it in the demolition derby. I usually name my cars. But I only called this one the, "Oldsmanova" I put three transmissions in it and one engine change. When I put the new engine in it it had at least eighty more horse power. I drove it for seven years. Some of the guys at the railroad said that I should put Harley Davidson stickers in the back window.
