About the placenta, what I’ve always found, is that the animal is always right. For example, I gave my chickens some runner beans and they didn’t eat them, I later found that they were poisonous to them The placenta is a good start for the mother after all her hard work, Just make sure to iodine the calfs umbilical cord, to prevent infection. Try to do this as soon as possible, as if the calf lies of the mud there is a chance it can get infected. Buttercup would be a great same for her.

Re: How Easter eggs came about? The modern English term Easter developed from the Old English word Ēastre or Ēostre (Old English pronunciation: [ˈæːɑstre, ˈeːostre]), which itself developed prior to 899, originally referring to the name of the Anglo-Saxon goddess Ēostre. Eostre is the pagan fertility goddess of humans and crops. The traditional colors of the festival are green, yellow and purple. The symbols used are hares and eggs, representing fertility (because we all know that bunnies breed like, well, rabbits) and new life. Montana Cynthia

It was a JOKE in the video, for goodness sakes, because of the way in which the birds left their eggs in unusual places in the straw floored enclosure. Some churches that I have worshiped at refer to the "Christian Easter" more fundamentally as Resurrection Sunday. There is no command documented in the New Testament about special observation days, except for the observation that these are all optional. Certain things that the churches did during times of opportunity for great social dominance weren't actually New Testament commands and if I could go back there in the proverbial time machine I'd try to warn them about that. Conducting a largely worldly society to look Christianesque isn't the same thing as conducting the "kingdom of heaven" affairs of consensual Christ worshipers, and it is the latter group towards which I now gravitate. Anyhow yes, Easter as we know it culturally today is a church adaptation of a pre-Christian celebration, and I only pray the good Lord use it to the best thing possible given the circumstances. If it be by analogy, it will be by analogy. The New Testament hardly mentions eggs but does mention seeds.
@SadisticSenpai617 ай бұрын
@@SeekingTheLoveThatGodMeans7648 Christians intentionally adopted pagan holidays and rituals into their own celebrations to get locals to stop celebrating the pagan holidays and instead focus on Christianity. That's why there's so many Saints days - many of which are only really acknowledged in small local areas. They were initially local pagan holidays/festivals/celebrations. The vast majority of Christian traditions regarding holidays have their roots in pagan traditions. And that isn't necessarily a bad thing either. Certainly church leaders in the past didn't think so or they wouldn't have intentionally incorporated those traditions into Christian celebrations. But this is also why history is full of weird bans passed by Christians prohibiting the celebration of Christian holidays. For the longest time, "good" Christians didn't celebrate Christmas (beyond going to Christmas Mass or the protestant equivalent) because it was seen as a drunken festival. And it wasn't until Christians once again embraced Christmas that the holiday lost the association with drinking, carousing, and rioting. BTW, my family also does the whole "Resurrection Sunday" and "Jesus is the reason for the season" stuff. They hated the idea of Santa (I'm unclear if they still hold to that now that the kids are all grown). And the Easter celebration in particular was especially stripped of anything that might be considered pagan in any way. No Easter eggs, no chocolate, no presents, etc - just a very boring and very long day at church (9am-3pm). And that resulted in us kids not really caring about the holiday or seeing it as special. It was just another Sunday, but one that just kept dragging on and on. So I'd say that the old non-Christian traditions do bring quite a bit to the holidays and help them feel special and fun - particularly to children.
