Ironically the Goldust gimmick was mainly done to save his career, since he absolutely needed to step away from the Rhodes family name and from Dusty's shadow (even more so since the two weren't talking anymore at that time). He needed to be more than just Dusty's son, so that's why Goldust was a blessing, it saved his career in more ways than one.

I’m convinced Dustin Rhodes is the most underrated professional wrestler of all time! The absolute level of respect that literally everyone in the business has for him is insane!! He’s moving better than most young guys when he’s into his 50s!! He’s also a phenomenal storyteller and seller!! If you read his book you see how much pride he takes in making every match as absolutely realistic as possible! He’s also shown to be able to make pretty much any gimmick or story (no matter how awful) as entertaining as possible!! He’s also just a stand up and likable guy! I firmly believe Goldust should’ve been world champion around his initial run. He had so much heat and was oddly creepy and sinister when he wanted to be. Even if it was short, a world title run with him would’ve had some great stories!! Hopefully AEW gives him something good before he retires!

LMAO, I remember that episode of Conan O'Brien! Goldust walked up to Conan who was sitting behind his desk, and started running his fingers through his hair! 😆 Conan just sat there with that deer-in-the-headlights look on his face! 😂 And then when Goldust went to go sit down in his seat, Conan grabbed a comb from his suit pocket and started combing his hair! 🤣 HILARIOUS! 👍 And YES ... Jim Johnston (who also deserves a HOF induction, no doubt!) also composed the themes for several other legends, whos theme fit their entrances & character PERFECTLY ... like Mr. Perfect's "PERFECTION" theme, Ultimate Warrior's "UNSTABLE" theme, Razor Ramon's "BAD BOY" theme, and of course, Stone Cold's "GLASS SHATTERS" theme! 💀 During the Ruthless Aggression era, he did some of his BEST work ever imo, composing the entrance themes for Muhammad Hassan, Nathan Jones, and the Great Khali's OG heel theme! ("D.NGAR" 🐅)

@@theguyfromwalgreens Nope, he was unfortunately fired (obviously by Vince at the time) and replaced with that current duo who does those generic remix-sounding entrance themes! (CFO$ I think they're called) 🤯🤯🤯

Absolutely. One of my faves and arguably the most underrated WWE wrestlers of the last 40 years.

Like Taker said he was in a promo with Booker T AND The Rock and Goldust was the star of the promo, not very many can say they out promo'd The Rock but Dustin sure can. I actually met him years back when he was in TNA, my brothers girlfriends dad owned an apartment that Dustin was renting and we went there to clean up the property and he pulled up while we were cleaning the yard and I flipped out because I've been a fan since his WCW days. He actually sat around and talked with us for hours and was grabbing stuff out of his car to take inside and he whispered to me "Watch this" and grabbed this BIG purple dildo that was given to him as a joke gift and threw it at my brother and it hit him in the leg, we both laughed our asses off. One of the best days of my life and he's just a down to earth awesome guy, he without a doubt deserves the HOF.

Always said they should’ve inducted him last year in Hollywood, just made sense the way his character of Goldust started, and the fact that Cody was headline wrestlemania. It just made so much sense. I get that he is with AEW but I’m sure it could’ve/should’ve been done…

Gold Dust was my introduction to Dustin. Id put him up there with all the best, his in ring talent is so underrated by a vast majority of fans.

Without question he deserves to be in the HOF. That character is legendary.

I think so. Goldust was a multi time WWE Intercontinental champion, back when it was undoubtedly the 2nd most important championship in the WWE. Most definitely. Same for IRS, though he wasn't a WWE Intercontinental champion, he's a former WWE World Tag Team champion.

Dustin Goldust should definitely be inducted into Hall of fame .Ground breaking character and so funny. Good wrestler too 😁💛🧡

Adrian Street pulled this off years before Dustin.

Heck yeah he does. It was very odd at first but quickly became pretty awesome. I won front row tickets to the CNE event back in the 90s and got a gold dust ring hammer.

Give 99% of the roster the Goldust character & they can't make it work. Dustin did wonders with such a bizarre character / concept and he really made it something special.

Goldust absolutely belongs in the Hall Of Fame. Cody...I'm not so sure about. It's too early in his career to say how good he might become. His initial WWE run was nothing special, but he seems to have found himself during his time away from WWE and now has his own personality.

“Goldie,” according to Booker T, should be in the Hall of Fame. Goldust, was Legendary. His entrance and the promos he cut was magnificent. The best entrances was The Undertaker, Kane, and Goldust as far as I’m concerned.

Mid 90's Goldust was at the top of the card and one of the most talked about characters not to mention he could wrestle PIPER vs Golddust Mania match was fire
@bizzlea88711 ай бұрын
There aren't many people who can say that they've wrestled in 5 decades...not to mention put on some of the best matches of his career in that 5th decade. Plus he added a Canadian destoyer to his arsenal at 50+. Dustin was given a terrible gimmick and truly made it into gold-dust. He's definitely a Hall of Famer

I would love to hear about his opinion of Jim Johnson NOT being in the HOF!!! Imagine the Undertaker without any of his iconic themes!
@foreverunsaved666111 ай бұрын
Or anybody else. I didn't like every wrestlers song that Jim wrote, but he managed to write music that fit the wrestler in question. If there was ever an unsung hero in the wrestling business - it would be Jim.

100%. The man went through with one of the craziest gimmicks in the wrestling world (and Seven, but we ignore that) and made a huge impact throught his career and made his mark in the wrestling world.

And don’t forget about the match. She had the back lot street fight with rowdy Piper that was an all-time classic. The guy made that gimmick so entertaining with many different layers. Not many guys could’ve pulled that off.
