Hot topic Rich. Doing the due diligence is right. Design features of motorcycles tires are specifically for handling. “Long haul and straight line travels, the dark-siding method is very popular, so far successful and seems to be a value added benefit for many . I get it. But not for me. “Getting it on” in scenarios like Tail of the Dragon, etc. Spirited aggressive riding, the feeling of a flat car tire can be a bit unnerving. It’s counter intuitive to my racing logic and my logic. Forget what people say. You ride one and report back. I’m really not concerned with how many miles I get. If it feels good. I’m good. I want the very best in safety & performance. These are the metrics that are the drivers for me. If I want to play, I know I’m going to pay. I’m good with that. It’s the price of admission in this game.

Well said as always RG. Definitely not concerned about the amount of mileage over the years but in my case the softness of the tires. Darksiding for me at this point isn’t a consideration. Definitely would have to do my due diligence Before taking that route. Thanks again for chiming in RG.

I have the GL 1800 I’ve ran both brands pros of Dunlop wear is way better 25,000 miles no problem the cons Harder compound doesn’t ride as smooth as Bridgestone my biggest problem with them is the rear tire picks up nails screws and bolts that’s why I switched to Bridgestone definitely softer I think that’s the reason I’ve had better luck of not picking up debris take a balloon which is easier to burst a hard one or a softer one

I went with Shinko and I have not had any issues. Also, Shinko is a bit easier on the wallet

I will NEVER buy another rear motorcycle tire again for my Goldwing. It's a waste of money because the tire is easy to get a puncture, then no good. Come to the DARKSIDE 😊.
