I’m pretty sure I know what’s going on here. That rear pulley looks to be the same as a 40 series torque converter. If you were to get the driver (front) pulley from a 40 series and get a 3/4”-1” adapter sleeve for the motor you’d have a lot better top speed and wouldn’t have to worry about burning up a clutch. You might have to change the position of the motor to make that work though.

Not to yap but the fix is to take the rear pulley off and see if the shaft it came off is keyed and measure the OD of the shaft and if for an example it was a 1” OD just get a regular 1” OD pulley (that is a lot smaller) bc right now you have a clutch working against half of a TAV and like you said it definitely needs a V-belt. also that clutch will burn out if you plan to drive it on anything other than pavement so I would recommend using that torque converter you called trash because it will engage like a clutch but it locks in on the belt rather than using clutch material basically

I’ve tried using a 212 before and I’ve struggled to get good results with preformce with modding out the motor if I were you I would save up and swap it out for a 301 or 420

You can use that other clutch you have for te fat belt that a cvt clutch like wat the golf cart engine had on it just smaller . You got the secondary on the transmission already. The way they work is the cvt clutch on engine closes and make the belt ride on the taper sheves and the on the socander the belt gets sucked in the more tighter it gets by going faster

I think the engine will need some fan or intake system as from what i can see it has no vents to the engine which could make it overheat but i could be wrong

If you want more speed you should get the original cvt transmission working. Usely that setup is meant to have a cvt clutch and not a normal centrifugal clutch. It works like a scooter transmission

You got all those sprockets, just use chain n sprockets, take off that secondary and put a sprocket there, machine or grind the engine clutch and put sprocket on there too

You need to by pass the governor for more rpm plus the pully swap u wanna do it'll be a fun toy then upgrade the motor for $200 can get a real exhaust and a better intake filter with a cone filter. My spelling is horrible Im aware of that.

It is not fine too weld it to the other pulley cuz it sounds bad and it looks bad and I'm not no professional but I'm pretty sure there's some bad things that can happen The welds can snap under the torque

do not weld the pully to the clutch here's a few reasons welding weakens the meatal around it so it would break the clutch and will always be and its almost impossible to weld the pulley straight if you don't have professional equipment to do so and also if you want i can help you guys with you're welding skills i weld a lot on the f1 car im building
