A video on how to diagnose if the solenoid is bad, would be good. Thanks for your vids!

I replaced the cillinoid and now it runs for a while then stops. Wait 5 or so mins. Then it will start back up. Any suggestions?

Good info.. A good FAQ would be how to go about getting your cart Street legal, no matter what state or city there has to be a starting point.

That's a great idea! I'll try to get something like that done in the next few months!

Do I need the wire that goes through the middle of the small terminals

Hi We have a 94 Ezgo medilist and we are trying to upgrade the controller and solenoid. We have everything installed but my cart isn't working. I've rechecked the wiring. The solenoid is not opening up. I'm not sure what to do.

Check to see if you have voltage on the 2 small terminals with the key on and the pedal depressed first. This will tell you which direction to go next. If no voltage, back up and find whats missing (positive or negative). You mentioned "not opening up). When the solenoid is activated, it closes and allows voltage to continue through. When voltage is not present, it opens up to stop the voltage flow.

I want to use a 48v 180a solenoid in a solar project that needs to carry up to 80v at 40a. Switching would be at 52V. Could this work?

Personally I would use a 72 volt solenoid.

Thank for your quick reply. I was thinking something similar, but are the contacts likely to stay closed as low as 42V? This LiFePo4 battery can go as low as 10% state of charge.
