Hey guys!
Wind tutorial 1.0 - How to use the rings?
This is the first video in my series in how to manage the wind. I give all the credit to Kyle Saxinger for this video.
There will be at least one more video about the wind were Im gonna go over my own system to manage the wind.
Do you have any questions? Do you need coins?
Send me a messages and I will sort it out.
All credit to George Daniel Rees for the chart.

The take shot button is just used as a reference when you're pulling your shot back so you're not just guessing. Line your take shot button with the ring that you want to adjust to. So say you want to adjust for 3mph wind with the sniper. You'd face your wind north, then line up your take shot button with the 3rd ring for the 3mph adjustment and then pull your bullseye back to the take shot button. This makes a perfect 3mph wind adjustment every time.

For viewers curious like me that are initially confused on how you figure out how to face north, pan/orbit your view around the ball until the wind direction indicator is facing perfectly away from you, unless the wind already is, in which case you skip that alignment step up and then begin the ring compensation. Hope that helps. Also, initially, I had wondered if the chart was club specific, but it is not. It is only a list of all possible accuracy measurements, to which you find your clubs current accuracy and apply it, meaning you can screenshot the chart and apply it the same all throughout upgrading your clubs. Ps. I just opened a clan under titled ConservativeJoes if newcomers would like an open clan to come join . I'm the only one in it so there's no pressure. Probably not worth the time if you're in an active clan, but for anyone not in one, feel free.

Golfclashnotebook.io Then click on clubs find your club, click on wind chart and input the club level and what power level your ball is, as well as where you are aiming (max, mid, min). This is one place, I'm sure there are others but it's pretty helpful.

@mikemewett9258 4 жыл бұрын
Steven what does Max, Mid and min refer to ?
@MrTevens
@MrTevens 4 жыл бұрын
@@mikemewett9258 It's referring to the range you can use that club. Max would be when you have the aiming circles a far away from you as possible, either when it turns into the next club or just as it can go. Min is the opposite, when it's as close to you before turning into a different club or at your feet. Mid is if you put it in the middle of the usable range for that club. Mid is a bit of a guessing game but you can usually figure it out by moving your club aiming circles back and forth to see where you are.

The clubs he is using is not what you should focus on. Watch the beginning again. He shows you a chart of 0-100% accuracy. Any club you own will list it's accuracy when you select it. Whatever it is, refer to that number on the left of the list. The two numbers after are for the wind/ring adjustments. If you hit a dead center shot and stop the needle dead center also, then you will have hit a "perfect shot." The max distance that you can move your ball away from you before it changes to the next club, and a perfect shot, is where these numbers are most accurate. If you hit such a shot, that number amount of wind speed will move your ball that distance. If your second number is 3 then a 3mph wind will move it one ring in the direction it is blowin. If the wind is 6 then it will move your ball to the outside edge of two rings. It is easier to count your ring edges ("wind per ring"or "wpr) rather than think of wind first because the math isn't normally that pretty. If my club accuracy is 70. My rings edges will be 1.6, then another making it 3.2, then 4.8, etc.. All the way to my outside ring being 8 (1.6x5rings). This number is where the third number in the list comes from and is there for making heavy wind adjustments easier to reference and calculate. So a wind of 6.7mph with a 70%acc.(any)club (wpr=1.6) will move a perfect shot the same direction to just outside of the fourth ring which had a wpr value of 6.4. So line up the shot to end where you want it to without thinking of wind. Then calculate the wind effect and direction, and move the center of the bullseye that much exactly opposite of that direction. Hit a perfect shot and your in there like swim wear. These numbers are not an exact science because the balls flight time, spin, curl, power and distance, and the elevation differences you shoot to all change the the wind plays on the ball. It will, however, have you immediately start making a couple hole-in-ones a week if followed correctly. If you dont try to advance too fast, it should also keep you above a 50% win ratio so you can make stack money like them guys that be staking money if you catch my drift. That's what makes this game good imo. There's a learning curve so skill does come into play. So nobody will give you an aneurysm when you rage out because they live next door to the cod server or bought all the good stuff with the TANF card they snatched from mom's purse. Hope your daddy light you up when he get out..... But I digress. I know this post is a year old but this is one of the top vids that came up through a search I did so figured an answer here might be relevant to some more recent enquiring minds. Hopes helps And as always, And never before, Put some effort into it! Putt some stank on it!

No problem. I don't do it for the participating award though. Third appreciation is enough even if I've only helped one person. Honestly though, this is just a step in the right direction. IMO, you should learn every stroke of every hole separately. For any hole you should find a good line and use the same club every you play that same hole. The elevation, wind direction, yada yada yada..... everything changes what happens trip the ball in flight.. don't even get me started on overpowering shots. People over use that as it is. But if you are consistent, and you take good notes, you will can master each hole individually. If you're JUST starting though, I wouldn't worry this much. Just use three 10%(or 11] rule before going to the next course and you'll do fine.. GL

I'm so fucking done with golf clash , it's such bullshit the winds change for each player so player 1 could have 10 mph wind at back then player 2 has 8mph cross wind and shooting 1st in the shootout is a massive disadvantage just make the winds the same for everyone and shootouts you can't see other players ball til after you hit
@Steveorino123
@Steveorino123 7 жыл бұрын
I see the same stuff. But it looks to me like somewhat of a "handicapping" device that's built in. In real golf, unevenly matched players can play each other using an official handicap that is developed based on reported and attested scores over time on different (or not) courses with different levels of play difficulty. So a guy who plays a middle to low middle game can be matched with much better player as a partner or competitor and they can still enjoy playing together. GolfClash does match us based loosely on number of trophies per player. It may be that the windage is an added and more subtle handicapping technique built in to the game. Watch closely and see if this pans out or not. See if the better player is saddled with the more difficult wind condition or not on a per shot basis. I have "vaguely" watched for this and it seems to be the case. Maybe I'm dreaming? Maybe I'm naïve and giving the game more credit than it's due, but it seems to be a pretty slick game, so it wouldn't surprise me.

This is mathematically incorrect. Wind is constant no matter what your accuracy. Rings pertain to quality of shot.
@CamoDC4L
@CamoDC4L 7 жыл бұрын
Mark Greer higher accuracy of club the smaller the rings are giving you a more precise measurement. For example the big dog has nearly twice the size ring area than the sniper. You are moving the marker the exact same distance with each club just each ring indicates different amounts of wind. It's pretty straight forward if you think about it
@Markcgreer
@Markcgreer 7 жыл бұрын
As a competitor, it is not in my interest to correct you, but I will anyway to be nice. No matter what club you use, 6mph wind will blow a ball 6 yards from target from a distance of X. If you hit a "Good" shot, the ball might move 10 yards further to the right from the target on lower accuracy clubs and maybe 5 yards on higher - But wind still effects both shots equally at 6 yards. (16 on low accuracy, and 11 on high). Wind constant. Rings pertain to quality of shot. Size of ring determined by accuracy.
@MrNicjohnston
@MrNicjohnston 7 жыл бұрын
Mark Greer You don't know what you're talking about. This chart and method gives a value(rings)to those wind yards based on club accuracy and a perfect shot. 5 rings of a 100 accuracy club is the same distance in yards on the course as 2 rings on a 25 accuracy club. But how do you know how to apply that without the values on the chart? You don't, because you can't determine actual yards of movement any other way.
@CamoDC4L
@CamoDC4L 7 жыл бұрын
Competetor or not you obviously can't read. I just said the rings indicate yards. Sniper with 100% accuracy for example with 1 wind per ring. There 3 cross wind. You move the ball marker 3 rings over. That's 3 yards. Then let's say the sniper only had 50 percent accuracy. The rings would then be twice the size as the 100 percent. So therefore each ring is 2 yards so you would move the ball marker 1 and a half rings. I don't think I could dumb it down for you anymore than that.
@Markcgreer
@Markcgreer 7 жыл бұрын
Based on a perfect shot as you say, no matter what the club accuracy 10mph wind will push either club's ball the same distance (say 10 yards based on X yardage from tee/spot). Wind does not push the less accurate club's ball any further. Wind pushes all balls the same!!!

Ok I have to give an update, I recently mentioned this shit didn't work but it 💯% works , i lost about 30 games in a row trying to figure it out and a ton of coins but it was worth it bc you can have confidence in where the ball is gonna go exactly , I recommend starting out learning on the first 3 tours bc you are gonna lose a little often until you get it down, I wrote it all down on a piece of paper so I could have it right there, each time you level your club and it moves your accuracy it's gonna change the rings but it works

Firstly, thank you for taking time to teach! When I use the formula 3-A/50 to calculate the wind/ring, I'm not getting the same results as listed in some of the wind tables that are published out there (Golf Clash Notebook, Golf Clash University Calculator). For example: Hornet 3 has an accuracy of 91, so it's rings per wind should be 0.85 (or wind per ring = 3-91/50=1.18). For a 4 mph wind, that is 3.4 rings of adjustment. However, Golf Clash Notebook and Golf Clash University Calculator report 3.1-3.2. That's not a huge discrepancy, but as the wind increases, so does the discrepancy. For winds of 8-10, the formula predicts about 0.5 rings MORE than the tables. I'm really curious to why this is; do you have any insight?

Justin Peyton I'll try to simplify it for you. 2 mph cross wind. Line your shot up where you want it to be. Turn screen with the wind direction. The sniper 100% accuracy which is 1 mph wind per ring around ball marker. Drag the screen so the take shot button lines up on the edge of the second ring which is 2 mph total then drag the ball marker back to the top of the take shot button. That will place your ball marker exactly where the second ring was. Back out and take your shot.
@CamoDC4L
@CamoDC4L 7 жыл бұрын
Justin Peyton you don't even need to zoom in as much as he did if you don't want to. You could be zoomed all the way out and still get the same outcome other than it being a little more difficult to see what you are doing. Just drag the screen so the the shot button sits on the second ring and then put your finger on the ball marker and drag it back to the top of the take shot button. It's actually really easy to do once you understand

Thanks for this great vid! Sorry if this has been asked before, don't have time to read through 411 comments. ;^) I'm not sure if I'm seeing all of the comments at the bottom of your chart. Are the numbers in the chart accurate only if you pull back to dead center power, like you did on both shots here? I assume they don't take things such as shot power/curl, elevation changes and surface slants into account... Anything else? Thanks in advance!

Great stuff. But I what I can't work out is. With better accuracy you need to move the circles more. Seems to me it should be the opposite way in theory. And what do you do with the sniper at winds above 5? Then you need to move longer than the last ring? Being a little blind? Or have I just misunderstood the whole thing?
@GolfClashTommy
@GolfClashTommy 7 жыл бұрын
You lay up some valid points. We will come out with a 2.0 guide soon aswell when we will go more deep in with this with wind.
@topgoat4421
@topgoat4421 7 жыл бұрын
With better accuracy on the clubs, the rings are smaller. That's why you have to move more than with worse accuracy. You're still moving the exact same distance for both clubs, it just looks like you're moving more because of the difference in ring size. As for the sniper and moving above 5 mph, I make multiple movements. So if I had a 7mph wind I'd move the 5mph first and then make another adjustment for 2mph. Hope this helps :)

Am I the only one that thinks this is backwards? I would think that a higher accuracy would mean the wind impacts it less. Thus, accuracy of 100 means each ring is worth 3mph and accuracy 0=1mph. The way it stands you have to move your target more times when you have a higher accuracy, and that just doesn’t make sense to me. Somebody please explain if I’m far off base.
@aaronpuddy6043
@aaronpuddy6043 7 жыл бұрын
Thanks so much for the guide. The one thing that's confusing me is having the fact that if you have 100 accuracy that's 1 per ring. If I'm facing a 10 mph wind that's like two full targets. If I have less accuracy it's say 2.5 mph per ring. So that's just 1 target. So less accuracy means the wind affects your shot less??
@aaronpuddy6043

Don't worry think I figured out my own answer. The size of the target is a lot bigger on the course when the accuracy is low.

With wedges like Tommy said I'd go by feeling, but your short irons the numbers are close and only need small adjustments depending on how much power you use.
@gla3mon

So there's something I could not quite understand. Please enlighten me. According to that chart, a club with high accuracy requires more shot adjustment since one ring is worth less wind. Let's say there's a 5mph wind. With a 100 accuracy club I'd have to move my shot by 5 rings, while with a 0 accuracy club I'd have to move it by roughly 1,5 rings. How is that possible? What am I missing here?
@topgoat4421
@topgoat4421 7 жыл бұрын
Because the lower the accuracy of the clubs, the larger the rings are. Therefore a larger ring=more wind.
@bccarrasco24
@bccarrasco24 6 жыл бұрын
It does not make sense that a better club (100 accuracy) has a lower wind per ring. The better club should have a higher wind per ring. Think about it and tell me if and how I’m wrong.

great work guys! I've been pestering Tommy to do this for a while :) wind 2.0 probably needs to factor in the difference between headwind and tailwind - the rings don't work exactly right when there's a headwind - and the stronger the wind the greater the error.... I haven't managed to work out exactly how this works - maybe this can be for the next tut :)

Depending on wind is where you leave ball guide line. For example tail wind leave just short of ring side wind leave ball guideline right to the hole and for head wind leave ball guide slightly past the hole.

One question i cant find the answer to is those winds that aren't direct side winds or direct head or tail winds. Eg. The wind is 10mph but at 8 o clock, so not a true side wind. How much would you compensate for that sort of wind? My hunch says youd play for a side wind thats not quite 10 mph (maybe 8?) And a head wind thats maybe 4 mph is this correct?
