Hi there ! I’m a bit a KZbin golf nerd and have probably over loaded with tips on all aspects of the golf swing tips. I’m a bit of a tinkerer and so end up with far too many thoughts going through my head before even addressing the ball. Watched the latest video And so decided to take it out on the course this morning. Just concentrated on just that tip and shot a 78 gross on a par 71. The best round I’ve ever had. It may not work every time but I’m only going to concentrate on that one thing for the foreseeable future. 9 under my handicap , what a result ! 👍🤞👍 one of my playing partners actually walked after 12 holes as he could not compete.

Fast becoming one of my favourite you tubers. I remember seeing Pete Cowan demonstrating this to Danny Maude and didn’t really connect, but this lesson was so clear. I can’t wait to try it out for myself. It makes total sense now. Great job guys. 👍

I think this is one of the best tips I’ve come across on KZbin. I just finished a range session and my distance increased by 20+ yards and my accuracy was spot on. The towel squeeze creates a perfect backswing and removes another variable in the swing. Keep a straight left arm and it’s almost automatic. Thank you!

Got this tip a year ago from a Pete Cowan video and straightened my driver up, gives you confidence to swing harder as you know the face will be close to square 99% of the time.

Good morning Andy ! Great instruction video..... I've been trying to work on consistently repeating that same move in my back swing for months now ! LOL! I can't say I really ever made the connection or the reason why it seemed to help my sold contact or distance. But now it makes sense ! Thanks for the lightbulb moment ! LOL ! Regards

Andy, you picked a good one. I love AC's channel. This tip has helped me immensely with my striking and accuracy especially with approaches. When I do it I succeed when I forget I am frustrated with the left and especially the right pulls/draws.

Just tried this out on the range. Wow! really helped me out on the backswing/takeaway. I was flushing the ball and hitting some amazing shots. Worth a try. Sounds a little unconventional but it really works. Anxious to take this to the course. Thanks!

Just had the exact same lesson from my pro to swing much more down the line, I was going round the back before baseball-style without realising it, changing to more down the line felt weird to start with but there's been a huge difference in ball-striking. Keeping the hands higher at the top has been a big change too for me, again felt v strange to start with but now feels really natural and for the first time in a long time I'm trusting my swing again. I'm even getting out of bunkers now, which I haven't been able to do for years.

Good channel, very useful. Had heard of the Cowen towel tip in the past and genuinely apologize for having forgotten to keep it in mind anytime I grip my club handle, sorry 🥴. It IS a wonderful, easy-to-master fundamental.

THE best tip ever! I use to sub to Carter but his lessons were un-understandable to me, to me he was blathering off the top of his head. I just could not follow the plot. SO I am so so so glad I stayed with this video. I use to have a B Flight Long, C Flight Short Game and F flight iron-play. This simple short tip gave me laser accuracy with my irons. I CANNOT BELIEVE IT. I am still shocked to see the ball land precisely where I aim!

Hey thank you. Took this to the range and really liked it because it kept me from having too many take away thoughts on my backswing. I also tend to take it too much inside. By the end of the bucket, I was hitting fades! LOL

The danger with working the hands against each other like that is it may increase lower arm tension or grip pressure (a swing killer)...well, it would for me anyway!

I’m a little confused. The shot tracking lines indicated a fade each time. Does that mean you were still coming over the top a tad which resulted in the fades? I know your usual swing is out to in. Was Andy’s tip designed to stop the fade or improve the quality of strike? No criticism intended And. Love your content and will love your forthcoming new style videos.

Jake Hutt has a similar drill that I like better. Push the left hand down, while pulling right hand up. Doesn’t create the tension that this might.

About time that golf teachers started offering and understanding the alternative swing style of Bryson DeChambeau. Most normal humans just can’t or have the time to master the traditional lower hand multi plane traditional system. Many older golfers are better off sacrificing some distance for more accuracy to better enjoy and compete.

There was no difference ,the club went inside and came over it the ball started left. That change is not going to happen on one swing. Golfers have scar tissue and it needs to be ingrained I believe in miracles in everything except golf.

First 3 minutes, why would a guy be left hand dominant that plays as a righty? I know they are out there but c'mon
@creamabdul-jabbar6722
@creamabdul-jabbar6722 Жыл бұрын
Always hated a teaching of being dominate in one side or other. Lead hand lead leg, or the "throw" with the trail hand. Good players are usually 90 percent equally dominant. Also like legs saying get to the lead side work through lead side. That's powerless. Yes your body naturally will move towards the target but you can see the best ball strikers are balanced. Especially watch them hit a short iron you don't see their feet leaving the ground until after contact. This rotation myth and this throwing myth is just that. I started playing the best golf learning this myself. Of course foot pressure changes as your body moves around but you're not supposed to purposely try for that. This is a great explanation of the hands though. As I started to feel like I had to turn the trail hand down in the take away. It's just a feel though because my left hand was so dominant I had to feel the trail hand to equal these out. But if you get an instructor that ever tells lift foot or use one side of the body more than the other run because you're going to get worse. But great explanation guys

At the moment your follow through is going shallow around your body when it should be on the exact same plane as the takeaway shown..... imagine a circle ring along your backswing, your follow through should be going up at the same angle, hopefully by doing that will cure any slices you might incur.

"Whenever the shaft is level to the ground, it should be parallel to the target line." This means.... on the takeaway... at the top ( if you get to level/parallel at the top.)... the downswing... release.... and follow through. This is called ** 5 TIMES PARALLEL ** This will get your swing on plane with a zero'd path. With a good grip, and proper alignment, it will create a zero'd path and zero'd clubface, and produce a straight ballflight .... and is required if you want to hit the ball straight at your target consistently. This is my "#1 Rule" with my students, after they learn the standard proper grip , stance, posture, and alignment. First, you have to learn the proper manipulation of the tool. Then you learn how to make the body move efficiently and consistently, to manipulate the tool properly.
