Nicely explained. I indeed suffer from no divot, my shots are generally on the fairway now, but do need to work on this part. Keep them coming..

Yes I agree, I have tried it with that short controlled back swing that will ensure the good quality of the impact. Good distance and good direction. Cheers from Indonesia.

I watched Russel's video yesterday and I found it very useful so thank you for covering this concept. I do think him referring to this as a no back swing move is very misleading though. I am 63 and this so called "no back swing move" is all I have to offer! lol. This is as good as it gets with me! I am quite content to play what most would call Senior golf as long as I can play! Thanks for sharing.

I don’t think you want to pin your right upper arm and elbow to your side this is bad , there are so many good instructors on KZbin and just as many bad ones. Go and check out swing man golf his advice is remarkable and his pedigree comes from the great Mike Austin. Please check out Mike as well probably one of the few people who knew the golf swing inside out,plus the fact he was a Scotsman. Mike did not conform to the way golf instruction was being taught.

I tried something today that I did years ago but forgot that really helped my irons. Know you have seen it before but I put a alignment stick 6 inches behind the ball and the highest point being the end of it was maybe 2 1/2 to 3 feet. I felt I had to go low back and through and staying down, but I was hitting solid straight shots and getting the divots. The ball set up was maybe not quite the middle ways from the end of stick and like I said 4 to 6 inches target side of the alignment stick. I also had the grip down lower that my old set up. Tell me what you think and why you think it helped.

Andy, today is February 20th and it’s been a while since we’ve seen a new post. Just checking in, hope all is well and you are just waiting for warmer weather like most of us. All the best in 24.

At the moment your follow through is going shallow around your body when it should be on the exact same plane as the takeaway shown..... imagine a circle ring along your backswing, your follow through should be going up at the same angle, hopefully by doing that will cure any slices you might incur.

It’s just a hack to compensate for poor weight transfer and the tutors desire to fast-track past the need to teach decent weight transfer.

About time that golf teachers started offering and understanding the alternative swing style of Bryson DeChambeau. Most normal humans just can’t or have the time to master the traditional lower hand multi plane traditional system. Many older golfers are better off sacrificing some distance for more accuracy to better enjoy and compete.

If you turn your front shoulder downward more toward the ball then your swing will be MONEY. THIS REALLY WORKS with all clubs.

Andy really nice training aid but and that's a big but for me USD $600. A bit high for my taste . I can get the new clubs I've been looking at for that price.

I have just started playing golf after a 30 year gap and have struggled for most of the year trying to find out where my backswing should be. This simple exercise sorts every thing for me, it has improved the consistency of strike and has increased the distance I am achieving.

That costs almost $1000 here in Australia Andy - that would buy a lot of golf lessons - with coaching and video feedback. Let’s see how long it takes to reach $500 - then I think it’s got a chance.

Question: I find keeping the right elbow ‘tucked’ in is _restricting_ my _full_ backswing. I’m giving up power and distance by doing this. Am I missing something?

These kinds of titles on KZbin drive me nuts. No way am I or anyone else gaining over 30 yards unless you have an absolutely terrible, inefficient swing. I seriously doubt that someone with a swing that poor will improve much or at all from a two second tip.
@motodiaries82049 ай бұрын
I would have liked to see a swing speed monitor of some kind in this video so we can see how much improvement in swing speed there might be here. I confess that I doubt that this would make any difference in my swing speed. I've done a lot of speed training lately and I know from that how to generate speed. It's not an easy thing to do and I can't imagine this little drill making any difference.

I am accustomed ,from long time ,to keep the right arm tucked in but only with wedges.With the other clubs if I do it I always hook the ball
@HereticalBuilder10 ай бұрын
Keeping the elbow close to the body misses the point. I found a better swing key is to keep the right elbow as close to the left elbow as possible. That allows consistent positioning throughout the clubs. It keeps the arms as a solid unit connected to the body.
@al13569 ай бұрын
Yeah having the right elbow excessively tucked in can cause so many issue in the swing.
