In this video I discuss the many failings of the answers to your downswing needs. I show you from a very exciting camera angle not many use, to give you the visuals that will clear up so many problems and set you free to playing better golf.
The golf swing is sold as a hugely complicated move and so many are selling the secret of golf, please, there is no secret, simply understanding. When you see the golf swing for what it truly is, golf mastery will become you.
I hope you enjoy...

This is the best move on you tube from the last years. I had shanks and inconsistent iron play. Long game an short game is great. But irons make always the difference on the round. This move with the camera from the top helped me so much today. I started pitching today for 2 hours 40 up to 110 meters and after 2 hours of iron play on the range. I could not stop because it was so simple and effortless. This is a game changer. You feel the effect right in the beginning. How simple and effective. WOW effect included. Why nobody told this to me earlier? HCP 8.3 - Home of the BMW open Munich Eichenried. Halleluja and thank you for this video. You need to watch it 2times because of the complexity of the mechanic’s … but wonderful when you have understood … Merci beaucoup, danke , thanks Jorge

One thing I have found that helps is to think - left femur (hip) internal rotation as I pull to initiate downswing. This helps me get my hips and shoulders open at impact .

I have watched hundreds of videos about golf. perhaps thousands and I have never ever heard anyone explain a few key answers to questions I had. This guy has got good pupils because they have asked vital questions and the answer in this video is actually astonishing. So he is saying that the club path and the hand path are not the same and a kind of end over end swing squares the face through impact and that the hand path does not match the swing path. The intent is superbly described with the lorry (truck) turn in the video. If this is correct its an absolute game changer. I cant wait to try this. I could never explain how the pro club path worked and always suspected that there was some part of the jigsaw left out. I have never been able to explain why the hips can be back to target in the down swing and yet hands moving outwards without this explanation. Ive tried many crazy rotations and all sorts of home made moves to make this work. I really hope this is it. When i was a young lad i could shoot single figs with a crazy home made OTT move and have spent decades trying to swing from 'inside' and remained 14 hcp forever. I will report back and even make a video if this works.

This is my first time stumbling across the channel, like everyone else, my natural swing is over the top. Now, I am the golfer at 4:15! drop the hands with the back toward the target and then swing. My shots all go left as yours did. So I love your out of the box explanation and I especially love your hubris in calling other instruction rubbish...I tend to agree with the comment. That being, I have been trying to figure out how the hell you swing out first and then down? All the examples show the swing in pieces but not as one fluid swing. Please do another video more in depth on this as if this is truly the way we should be swinging, you're the ONLY instructor online preaching it and it would help many people. I want to get onboard but physically putting it into practice has proved problematic. I look forward to going through some of your other videos.

@@GoodGolfCoaching recommending driving the handle out with a open club face then to dumps the club down vertically with over active hands is a poor way to play golf. You will get away with it with shorter clubs but die with longer clubs. post any top pros swing on sports box AI and show me that. Stuart a question if you will. The lorry or truck turning is a good representation of the swing but the lorry is traveling on a flat surface. During the downswing, the arm structure is lowered a some point at what appears to be a rapid rate. when is this started? Also, can I surmise that ulnar deviation occurs in the downswing but only slightly contrary to much instruction? Thanks.
@GoodGolfCoaching
@GoodGolfCoaching 11 ай бұрын
Dave, you're absolutely right; 2D compared to 3D is you like, with regards to the lorry analogy. It was to simply a way of explaining that we must manage a linkage and not a 1 for 1 feel or approach. The lowering of the arm plane is a big topic which i will aim to uncover in the coming weeks. Indeed it does occur in the downswing, or encourage would be more accurate. 😊 Best wishes Stu

@@crimn I share some of your concern. I’ve been both curious and informed. He has to exaggerate to make a point. I believe key issues are how you perceive or view club motion and movements. He does show pulling and rotation around and left on a regular basis and his leg motions are well conceived. He is using some of the ideology of various teachers and data that suggest our idea of club movement and geometry are not exactly correct. Too much handle movement up and inside out swing concepts. Don’t want to speak for him but I believe he is cutting edge. Try the Broom drills…

Thank you for your instruction videos I have watched most of them! I’m 54 never been below a 10 handicap and the worst part of my game is mid irons, if I’m chipping and putting good I can shoot in the 70’s. After working on this downswing move at the range it felt repeatable and fixed some fat shots but.. I can’t find the middle of the club face, every shot is off the toe. Feels like I’m pulling across the ball. I’m working on but can’t fix this problem.

The hardest thing in golf assuming you have a good back swing is getting your hand path to actually shallow/slight inside in transition and not go out. He is over the top and then dumps it under with active hands rotating. Good golf swings arms move down and not out towards the ball and you rotate through . Your arms don't separate from your body and if anything you feel a pinch with you left pack and left arm and lagging your rotation. all the guys who bomb it have that look.

I'm pulling/Pull Hooking the ball consistently. My coach has identified an over the top swing with a closed clubface and is trying to stop my right shoulder and hands from moving as your top down illustrates it should. I'm finding it difficult to get the right shoulder tilt he wants to see while making solid center face contact. I'm very frustrated as before the right tilt/over the top "fix" I was consistently shooting low 40's on a par 36 9-Hole @ 3000+ yards and now, as a result of the fat shots and loss of distance, I'm shooting 47-48 for that same nine :(

Hoping your coach knows what he’s doing; personally, anybody that has a pull hook from an over the top has a face orientation issue and should not be addressing the over the top. That’s the symptom. I have found that to start the downswing I have to feel I am swinging the club 25 degrees to the right of the target while delaying the the rotation of the body.As the club moves down my body seems to rotate on its own.. This seems to allow me to finish the swing with my weight somehow on my left foot and my chest facing the target.And the club somehow hits the ball toward the target. PS :I am 81 years old. I can't start the down swing with my hips opening up while my shoulders remain back.If I try to do that the club gets thrown outside the line and I hit a pull hook.

Hi Stuart, I have a question.... Can you tell me that when you do the pull phaze, how far do the hands travel out and before they start to pull them back so you are exiting left, the reason I ask is I've been trying this technique but I hit straight pulls or if the face is controlled it's a fade, I find it impossible to hit a draw because the hand path is to far out towards the ball line. Do the hands have to travel past the ball before the you start the pulling back and left, or do the hands only travel to the trail foot before they start the second part of the downswing, hope you can understand what I mean🤷‍♂️Would love to hear your thoughts. Thanks Warren.

Hi Thomas - when all the elements are in place, I rarely find clients battle with moving the way diagnosed in the video. I wouldn’t wish to come across bullish, I absolutely appreciate your reservations if you have come from old school thinking. Where does the ball go when you apply these feels?
@thomasgolft
@thomasgolft Жыл бұрын
Hi Stuart, my reservations are only addressed to myself, not to your teachings. I come from tennis and I have a very linear idea how to move the club head towards the ball, for example I don't manage to do what you show in the video where you are on your knees to show that the head needs to "overtake" the handle. I hit the ball straight most of the time but the contact is clonky and not "compressed". @@GoodGolfCoaching

Thomas no offence was taken Sir - without seeing you I can only use my channel to help you with some tools to improve your game. I happened across the video and watched it. Never seen anyone else give this instruction and thought maybe it was some kind of edge case because no way would I be able to hit a ball doing that outward move after spending years trying to apply shaft and club head pressure and "spin it down" as Pete C says. So whilst practicing, I tried it and couldn't believe I was able to hit the ball. So then I tried it on course.. and yes, I duffed 2 or 3 mainly because I didn't commit to it properly and was in between the old way and the new. But when I did hit the ball cleanly, it felt effortless. I didn't feel like I was trying to hit the ball and control all sorts of things. The ball just launched . My only issue is it launches higher than I'd like so I need to work on it more to , but for a first time try I was astonished because it just seems like it would work. Now I need to decide if I commit to this or keep plugging along as I was. Golf, love hate.

I have to fix students trying to actually do this kind of stuff all the time, and I can’t tell if this is serious or you’re just trolling 🤔 Regardless, I’m trying to understand how this is going to help mid to high handicappers do anything other than shank the shots they don't block or hook. I promise I’m trying, and not being a smarta**, but, I’m failing. I’m sure it can be done, but can it be done consistently by players owning a “less than elite” set of hands? I doubt it. The theory is sound, and I agree the handle has to get around and left, but the execution is what I question. Why move the hands and handle anywhere remotely close to the ball line, when the exact same result can be accomplished by creating room with the hips so that the hands can simply come back down the original path and move left around the belt line? Not to mention the disruption in the centripetal force due to the redirection from pushing the handle away, and then down and left in a millisecond? Why not just maintain the hand path in the backswing on the way down, as the trail palm maintains extension while supinating gradually into impact? That way the trail hand accomplishes what you’re suggesting you do with the arms and the path never gets close to the shank zone. PS - for anyone curious what I’m suggesting or who doesn’t believe the same thing can be done in a simple move, here’s a snippet of a recent lesson discussing this very issue… kzbin.infosfZ63WNJsgM?feature=share

Yikes! A sure fire way to screw up your swing if ever there was one. Next time you watch guys like Justin Rose, Justin Thomas and Ricky Fowler notice their pre-shot rehearsal. If you actually see their hands moving in a direction toward the golf ball, get your TV adjusted. I'm calling this the F-35 swing as it changes direction in mid-air. Please remember this is MY OPINION and if you really want to try this, by all means do so. But, first go watch any Tour Player on youtube. Find a video filmed from the rear. Use the PAUSE button to stop the swing and the PERIOD KEY to advance the swing one frame and the COMMA KEY to go backwards one frame. If and when you actually find a professional golfer who makes THIS MOVE the presenter suggests, let him know and give him a thumbs up. I'll check back in a few weeks. Incidentally, we do want our hands to return to about the same distance they were from our thighs at address but NOT THIS WAY.
