This video was amazing. It changed my game. I have the same type of swing, and I have the same faults. In the past, I've tried to change my setup like you told him (bump left) but had the same poor left miss. When you then adjusted his handle path, I had to try this. Wow. What a fix! This was brilliant. That was the missing piece. Please post more lessons!

So this lesson has literally gave me a paradigm shift in my golf swing. I completely get it now. I need to thank you. I went to the range with a gc3 and the results with a 7 iron were staggering. Working out that the wrists unhinge whilst the the left leg pushes my body back ti create opposing forces at the bottom is literally money. Thank you so much. Wish I could send you the numbers, they're insane 🤯

This was really eye opening to me. I have been working on Shawn Clements swing methodology and the distance I gained is amazing, what I can't seem to find is consistency. You have created another conundrum for me of "do I switch again down another youtube rabbit hole" of golf swings. This made so much sense.

I would say go with Stuart, Shawn has an idea of swinging from inside and release towards target in a manner that turns the toe over, you might get distance but never concistency, i worked on Stuarts concepts with the broom drills, went and play a competition in my home country(Finland) and played my way to the country final. I am a 6 index and believe me i have been and still do have big issues with sh*nks pushes and ocasional snaphooks , this is all because i bought int to the bs to swing far from the inside. One Day 72-79 next Day 90-99... And i have watched and tried everyone and everything the last 10 years (31 now) Always told people i wished i found that guy online who knows what he is doing and talking about so i one day can go for a lesson and feel he can help me and cut the bullshit out. Let me tell you i found that guy after 10 years, His name is Stuart.❤

Really like the video, pushing the handle for interacting with the club is brilliant. I do have a question about set up though. Most pros set up with their hips directly above their ankles to avoid moving forward in the back swing and early extending. Any further thoughts on this?

Hey Stuart, absolutely love the broom drills and the handle work, thank you. One thing I don't fully understand is the posture stuff from down the line. The greats like Hogan and Snead had the hips over the ankle. Doesn't that give you more room to compress into and move them deeper during the movement?
@GoodGolfCoaching
@GoodGolfCoaching 11 ай бұрын
Hey Brian - thanks for the kind words and feedback. My issue with using Hogan and Snead, there are so many variables that sit outside the modern day game. Not to say they can’t be used but it’s a conversation that’s too long to undertake online. All I’d say, is try what I advise and see how you get on with it. Sorry to dodge the question but when someone (me) contradicts Hogan, all hell breaks loose 😂

Marvellous video. This and your video about pulling the club has really clicked with me. Pull down as you push back with the lead leg. Seems so simple. It sure works -- at least for irons. I'm seeing big distance gains with everything but the driver. Can't hit it out of my shadow. I don't understand how I'm to get the handle out in front of me and at the same time be releasing the driver early to get the ball on the upswing. Anyway thanks a lot for the help with the irons but now I'm hitting my 5-iron as far as my driver. :)

Dude, I noticed you moved his hips a tad closer to target. You said , more in line with left shoulder. My question is , is this a hip bump and does it move your right knee a tad in? It’s seems to help, especially with the driver. A body set up video can help?

This was great. Really helped show how some of the pieces fit together, especially early extension and some of the fixes our body forces us to do to recover from other compensations. I'm still working in my head on the balance and timing of the push and pull feels/motions. Side note: his new setup looked pretty bent over, though his back was much straighter. Is that a personal anatomy thing, or just a fix from where his setup had been?

Hello Stuart. Thanks for this jaw-dropping lesson. The 20:25 stance comparison shows his old hands positions closer to his body than in the corrected position. Still, I don't think that you corrected his distance from the ball in any way. He did it by himself. I understand that he could have achieved the 90 deg relative to his spine with the former ball distance but the toe of the head would have been pointing a bit upwards. Would that have been acceptable or must the sole be absolutely flat on the ground. Is the upright toe a nono? I have seen in some places that this upright toe thing is not bad for certain golfers (???).
@GoodGolfCoaching
@GoodGolfCoaching Жыл бұрын
I never worry about the sole of the club statically, its only relevant of its change at impact. We didn't do anything considerable enough to change his impact dynamics with regards to lie angle. Hope that helps Serg. Best wishes Stu

Ever thought about changing occupation? Duplicate your talent and sell it by pieces, quickest way to become multimillionaire.. Question: whenever you show the beginning of the downswing SLOWLY, the grip/shaft points miles behind the target line and your hands are very high. I don’t see it when you hit balls in real swing. I’m not only ingenieur, I’m a GERMAN ingenieur, so if you tell me “pull behind the target line, hands high”, I’d follow and miss the ball. Wouldn’t be correct to pull the grip towards the ball or slightly behind the target line, all other pieces (pushing blue band out/down, left hip back and behind) in place??

Hi Peter - if you drove a car around a corner that didn’t have any roll in the chassis or compression in tyres, would you say there is no lateral force? Until you accept the opposition to direction pull and force you’ll never appreciate the push back. Hope that helps. Best wishes Stu 😊
