To be fair this hole is ridiculous with any above average wind

I like this hole if the greens hold but if rock hard you basically have a quarter of the green to land the ball since anything off the green is likely unplayable/in the water. Rough stuff.
@TheBigEasyConservative2 жыл бұрын
it's a silly and disingenuous golf design. place these rocks in a section, even two sections... but it's lazy and unoriginal, simply malicious, to surround the green with rocks. there has to be a "bad side, a side to miss it on:... I don't respect the thinking behind this green. redesign it. it's dumb. punitive design is something of a Modernist deconstruction of golf courses... don't go there.

I don't care for holes where the "luck factor" is so huge when a bad shot is made, in all fairness a bad shot deserves a difficult result, but not a disaster for some and a break for others. The "luck factor" takes away from the "contest of skill", just like a SUPER fast green with sloping conditions that let a VERY close miss trickle to a ridiculous distance....imho

C'mon...This is a great hole ...The challenge is equally difficult physically and mentally. 165yds...is in the wheel house of any tour player, wind or not. What I saw was most guys missing or almost missing the green entirely. IE: psyched out.. A full 7 iron or easy 6 for me. To speed play a litle penninsula with a drop zone could be added...2 strokes is enough punishment on any hole though.

One thing I never understood about golf coverage is that they never really do it like in the golf games, where you follow the ball flight from the players point of view. If they did that, golf would be a lot more exciting to watch. This whole watching it in the air kind of thing is really annoying, making it seem very random and 2d/boring.

@Thatguy-fg4fp2 жыл бұрын
@@Sandul666 first off, about your time stamp, you’re literally talking about an incredibly expensive and complicated to setup video camera and booth; that is elevated above ground level on an platform with a dedicated and experienced videographer. You expect them to have that view for every single golf shot hit?? And 2nd off the original commenter literally said “watching it in the air is kinda boring” where tf else are you gonna watch the ball?!?! The only time it isn’t in the air is when putting so what is he even on about?! And lastly you need to realize that you’re watching a golf championship. One in which includes an incredible amount of goals other than making the best video possible. Only KZbinrs are able to set that as their primary goal. So quit complaining and buy a ticket if you’re that upset above you’re “shot view”. The great thing about golf, is that they are hardly ever seats, so you can stand watch if from wherever you’d like if you buy tickets. Also if you watch it live, they include plenty of shot TRACERS which you would see. You click a random highlight video so yeah there may be any shot tracers included. I’m starting to realize I’m wasting my time because I’m arguing with two idiots who don’t even watch or care about golf outside of KZbin. The original commenter expects them to have a drone shot of every single golf shot but the reality is that, that’s impractical and drones are loud. Especially when moving at fast speed, which is required if it were tracking a golf ball.

@@Thatguy-fg4fp you are getting very emotional over something that is very trivial. You're right, i don't watch a lot of live golf. What hole would you say was the toughest?
@ghpjerry3 жыл бұрын
The conditions you play it in & Tour Pros for a Tournament are night & day different. For every day play, the green is watered more, therefore softer & holds better. The green isn't mowed nearly as short as it would be for the Pro's, nor is it "rolled" like it would be for a Tournament. What those guys are putting on is tantamount to perfectly smooth concrete. Still props to you if you play the hole well. We have an Island green on my local course, no matter what T you play, it messes with your head & is much harder to hit than if it were surrounded by grass.
@jeromecarlson91443 жыл бұрын

@robot37593 жыл бұрын
@@jeromecarlson9144 I don't think you realize how fast grass grows back. Playing 7 days after the tournament pretty much means the grass is back to the conditions it would normally be. That, and 40+ mph wind speeds would be causing structural damage to trees and small buildings. Yes, the week after the tournament might be a bit harder than you would normally find the course, but that doesn't mean it's on the pro-level.
