Golf MK5 door puddle light installation

Golf MK5 door puddle light installation - sorry if I missed anything out.
NOTE: Older 32 pin connectors,pins 1 & 2 are used, 1 red 2 brown.
Passenger side was already done as a test and this is the drivers side install, however it's the same to install the other side. Have to add 64 to each doors in VCDS.
Pretty straight forward just the door card is fiddly getting off and then back on again.

If 19 is occupied drivers side you probably have gen 2 instead of gen 3 like me, even placing into 18 and splicing into 19 if occupied didn’t do anything so you place the red into pin 1 and splice the brown into pin 4 the ground, make sure it’s actually connected (I wrapped the wires round eachother with elec tape) worked a charm, took me days trying to find the answer

Thank you so much for the tip i just did it it's work fine ! But the passenger side i put in pin 18 and 19 like in the tutorial but it didn't work do you know why ? I have to use pin 1 and 4 like the driver side ?

Hi just a question. I have a mk6 golf, i have some lights like the ones in the video. However my wires are black+red, i have put them in the ones in the video. Also the part which goes into the light itself doesnt click in like your but goes in as far as it can. Any advice?

It requires coding if you don't already have stock puddle lights and wiring, I used VCDS to code it. It's not plug and play if the wiring isn't already there.

Hello. I have a Golf 5 from 2003. On the front doors my windows regulator motors doesn't have the pins installed. On the driver side with part number 1K0959793C, only have the 19 pin. On passenger side with part number 1K0959792C, the 18 and 19 pin is not available. Is there other way to install the door warning lights without these pins?

That light thing you took off to put the gti one there I have them so would I need to do coding?

Mine were just deflectors so had to wire them in and do the coding. If yours already has the wiring and lights up I don't think it would require coding, but unsure.

@@AlexHusTech The car didn't came with door lights I think I have the old 32pin, it's a 2005 golf, what I did was to connect the red into 18, and earth (brown) as a bridge to the same cable that it was connected in the 19, but VCDS says 012 - electric fault in circuits

I think it should work on all Golf MK5, wire location may be different, may be pin 1 & 2 on older models of the adapter.
