This video, has single handedly given me a feel I hadn't had before. I've been working with a pro for a bit over a year now, and we've been attempting to get my takeaway less inside, and shortened. I watched this video, took it to the range, and was absolutely stunned by how well it has worked. It's now allowed me to not even THINK about my takeaway, and made it very much on plane; it's also allowed me to really FEEL when I'm getting to long or dumped over the top in my backswing. Took it to the course this morning, and it was brilliant. I've said it once, and I'll continue to say it - You provide hands down the best instructional content on this platform. Next time I'm in Florida, I will absolutely have to schedule a lesson with you if possible.... Thank you!!!!

If y’all haven’t heard of a former professional golfer, named Allen Doyle, this was his entire golf swing. That half swing drill…was his ENTIRE golf swing. He won 23 amateur events, 19 professional events (including FOUR senior major championships), and over $15 million. All after the age of 47. I’m not disagreeing with Eric, but this can be ANY golfer’s full swing. Doesn’t need to be just a drill. The longer a swing gets…doesn’t necessarily mean more speed or power, but certainly means more can go wrong. I’ve been playing for 40 years, I’ve studied them all. Allen Doyle and Doug Sanders, are the players I decided to model my movements after. I’ve got a 1.8 handicap, driver average is about 270, and I spend most of my day in the fairway. Remember, when it comes to a complicated game like golf, less can actually be more. Great video!👍

One of my favorite drills in that, like the Dr Kwon drills and rope swings, intsead of teaching you movements you need to think about in the swing, it trains your body to recognize the right feels and motions. I hit irons this way very effectively out on the course for a while, but wanted more distance from a fuller swing. On the range, with flat lies and perfect footing, the longer swing does give me more distance, but this shorter swing feels like less room to get off plane, so maybe I'll go back to it for uneven lies and stances.

This was an amazing video to come across! I've had some serious issues with early extension and a minor shift in the initial takeaway. After watching this video, I immediately went out to my matt to get some dry swings in and I felt a difference instantly. I'm a fairly long hitter, but I've never had the consistent ball striking I've been searching for. I went to the course about an hour after the dry runs of your drill to warm up on the range and hit the course. I liked your drill so much, I've basically made it my swing, but instead of pausing halfway back, I keep a nice tempo and really feel the coil. It was my best day on the course in terms of ball striking, now I need to work on my chipping. lol Anyways, thank you for the help! I'm about to look through your content for more gems like this one!

Came across this a few days ago. Driving and short game were solid, but mid-irons and fairway woods were erratic, mostly from not keeping my left arm straight. Also I'm not good at moving forward at the start of my downswing. Took the float load to the range and was immediately impressed. Hell, I even used it on the course and hit more greens in reg than I have in a long time. Respect.

This is exactly what I have been practicing and to be honest, the contact you make and the results makes me want to do it on the course lol. To me, maybe I am wrong, this is almost essentially what makes Hogan's swing so idealistic. Love the drill of feeling the lowering of the shoulder and squat move together. That's the key. My swing has shortened over the past year and I'm hitting the driver best in my life.Not as long as Rahm and Finau of course but same length of backswing. This drill is almost how I've been swinging for the past 6 months. Much more lag. Now I DO want to add length to my swing as my iron flight is just too low and I know I can pick up 10-15 yds on my driver with some practice. This is gonna be a conscious drill in my practice for sure. The add a longer backswing near the end of the drill sessions.

The "A-ha" moment of this video, for me, was not just the hip moving to the left, but for the torso to move in conjunction with. Historically, I would only get the hip to the left, and not feel the torso/lat, and generate power solely through pushing up and back with my left foot. Keeping tension on the lat should help "sync up" my kinematic chain, and really unwind my torso, before unwinding the shoulders, then arms, then hands. Excellent drill!

I'm going to try and incorporate that move pushing down/forward today on the range, looks like it can help increase some speed. I've been working on getting wide with my back swing by doing the same with keeping right arm straight, not much wrist action, but when my arms are parallel to the ground, feel like the club head is poking a hole into the clouds, or ceiling behind me, if that makes sense. Then on my down swing I try to keep my wrists "quiet" I guess..by letting the letting the club head weight dictate the hinge in my wrists. That's how I get that whiplash feeling.

I literally discovered this last week after spending time on the range following a disastrous round... I was hitting half-shots with irons to work on accuracy and found that if I cut my backswing in half and barely broke my left wrist, along with having a good hip move, that I could hit the ball my normal distances with much, much better accuracy... So I had been integrating this "hip shift forward to instigate the downswing" motion into my practice, but what you call the 'float load' move actually instigates this movement BEFORE the downswing begins. It's interesting, and it really is making me feel my age (55): I'm obviously not as flexible as I used to be, but I really feel like I CANNOT take my club as far back as before if this move is utilized. It literally makes it impossible for me to exaggerate my backswing, and I don't consider that a bad thing: it will stop a pull, and casting/early extension...a whole host of swing flaws. This is more purely athletic move to the ball, but when done absent tension, should create increased ball speed off the club, and - more importantly - groove the club into the shallowed on plane swing we're all looking for. This looks easier to practice and implement than most other tips I've seen - and it reminds of what I see in Garrett Clark's (GM_Golf) swing. I'll work on it. Thanks!

This is just my normal swing now and I don’t care that it looks weird. I’m hitting it farther and much more consistent 🤷♂️

Why is this done with a mid to short iron? This can’t be done with a long iron?
@CogornoGolf2 жыл бұрын
Hey Peter Can use same feels ...some people need more time with backswing length with longer clubs

Another comment: I can see how the average golfer using this technique may have to guard against fatigue later in a round/during a marathon 36 hole day: fatigue could manifest as a breakdown of the straightness of the lead arm through impact, or a collapse of the knees into the ground during the downswing, resulting in a fat shot, etc. Other than that: FAR more natural and repeatable.

Haha most people getting fatigue around 14-15 holes let alone 36 :)

The Precision Impact training aid does the opposite of what good training aids do. It would be better if it would force the right hand into flexion, so the muscles would be trained to keep the wrist in extension.

Your instruction is excellent, but it is aimed at the young people who are supple and movement is easy. Tell about the motion for a 76 year old who has been playing since he was 20

Great video, however I found your associate distracting. Talk to the audience, not to your associate.
