I had the pleasure of watching Joaquin warm up at the Aus open 2023 (which he would go on to win). He was hitting some kind of wedge about 100m, and within 10-20 shots his balls were literally landing on top of each other he had them in such a tight bunch. That's how consistent he is. I knew when they made this video, he was about to set the record

Scottie won 5 of first 6 starts (including Players championship and Masters, which included Joaquin) in early 2024, so... There may have been a time period when Joaquin was playing better than anyone else in the world, but early 2024 was not that time period.

@jrizzle59 Scottie wasn't playing anywhere near Niemann's level at that time. edit: I don't see ANY Scottie wins before March 10th. Niemann had won the Australian Open in December 2023 (part of the 2024 season) and 2 LIV wins BEFORE March 10 2024. And even on the 10th, he came 4th.

6:20 Yardages on the scoreboard are not a great way to do this. How can you have one yardage, for example, 260-270 and the next 270 to 280… he hits it 270. And while he’s only hitting for the selected range (260-270), why would you make him hit 270 to 280 if he’s already hit 270 on the dot? He even calls it at 10:15 😂

@@cwofactory96 Thanks, I see that. He’s calling the number before it’s completed on the screen. I can see as the ball is in the air he calls the number by peeking at the LM. I have the same LM and should’ve realized the carry number is produced right after the ball is struck.

This novelty event doesn't "prove" anything. No account given to short game, bunkers, course management, scrambling, emotional control, and that little thing called putting. JN is an oustanding player but he needs to be a consistent top 10 ranked player and step up in the majors to be great.

This series has provided me with the ammo to all the idiots that say “draws don’t go further”. Every episode, when a pro is trying to squeeze more yardage, they’ve said “going to hit a draw here with X club”
