Yea....until you watch a backyard course with real grass...it's far cheaper by a long shot, ball rolls even better and it's the real thing, no hitting from mats which gives you more spin.

@@chosen1one930.just STUPID assessment after stupid assessment. This is a BACKYARD PRACTICE AREA piss stain, if you think you just throw grass seeds to the ground and automatically you have a green you're absolutely out of your rocker. Were do I start..if you go natural grass, you'll still need to open the ground, put piping in for drainage, lots of layers of sand compacted between layers, then you plant the grass and wait months for it to be nice, then you need to sand it DOZENS of times with hundreds of pounds of sand until you have a good rolling green, obviously after you have purchased a specific mower with height adjustment and a roller but that's just 60,70k,a dedicated irrigation system that will reach the green and the tee box, then spend a couple hours every day taking care of it cutting, sanding, rolling and praying you'll have no infestations so you can have a few practice rounds before the winter comes along and fcks up all the work you've done over summer,assuming you still have any grass left on the tee box because 100 swings a day that shit goes fast. All this to say that a real green if you're not either a millionaire or retired is STUPID,something like this is pristine all year round, zero maintenance, always looking good,no water required, will look exactly the same in 15 years as it looks now. You've got NO CLUE about what it takes to maintain a real grass green, of course I've read all your comments so you clearly think you do, your just one of those "I don't have a clue about the subject at hand but I'll have to disagree " kind of guy

The green looks really receptive to shots. I have 75 yards to work with for shots in my backyard and would like it to be someone receptive and still have a good roll for putting and chipping. What product would you recommend to install? Installers in Buffalo have told me you can't have the best of both worlds, (receptive and a smooth roll) but I'm gonna try. Thank you for the advice.

Congratulations on the landscaping and build! Looks awesome. Would appreciate if the Ikes Turf Team could help me with 3 questions! 1. How long was the construction of the green & tee off? inc: excavation, drainage, sand (ordering/ delivery), lawn etc - to the moment you tee off in the video. 2. What material is the green & rough. Is it astro-turf? 3. What are the benefits in using seeded grasses vs. astro-turf styled grasses in maintenance (not gameplay). Does it drain water or have any other beneficial features? Thanks again.

I guess the biggest benefit would be low maintenance? But not sure how he solved for drainage problems of the bunker tho. I just saw an imperious membrane below the sand. Any idea?

Got to be honest, seems like kind of a waste. The guy already has a decent layout and with some creative land management, he could have seemingly done this all-natural. I could see doing something like this in the desert, but why in land that already has decent looking grass and natural terrain
@natjenkins85054 жыл бұрын
My guess is simply maintenance
@tylerwalker82234 жыл бұрын
James C it’s very difficult to maintain a grass greens there silver moss and worms and you have to cut it near daily the mowers are expensive you wouldn’t be able to use it year round and it would be a full time commitment to maintain it
@jg13164 жыл бұрын
@@tylerwalker8223 Obviously, but that is the technique. It is understandable if you build something where you have no natural landscape but if you build it when you already have a solid foundation, it seems kind of weird. It sounds more lazy than anything

@@jg1316 the guy just wants to play rather than spend every waking hour maintaining it
@jg13164 жыл бұрын
@@natjenkins8505 That is a little dramatic, maybe a half hour a day if you are consistent and maybe some extra weekend duty once a month. Small price to pay to have a Par 3/practice area behind the house. If a guy is dumb enough to think a 100k synthetic green is going to make him good, he probably isn't that good anyways. I can't believe people buy into all this commercial hype about products improving performance. Just find a half decent green area, maintain it somewhat, and practice like a beast. People get to uppity about golf and ruin its simplicity

You saying that's a 40 yard long tee box is the biggest lie ever, try 15 to 20 if that
@dwreck5578 Жыл бұрын
Lol, he didnt say tee box was 40yds. He said the box plus pin position allows for target 80yds -120yds. Tee looks like 15yds so upfront tee to upfront pin = 80. Drop back 15yds on tee plus back pin = 120. Green could be approx 75' front to back to losely achieve that target range.
