Kemau Si I think he creates his speed by the that his left shoe lace is a bit tighter, also his left ball is slight above plane compared to his right ball. This gives him the x-factor plus the accumulator.

People making comments about he's gonna wreck his back, hip, knee, blah blah swinging the club like that. DUH. you've gotta do those things to swing the club 120. These guys know that and they're willing to make the sacrifice for their sport. It's like telling a linebacker youre running too fast or too hard into someone and gonna hurt yourself. No shit that's kinda the point

If we take a look at Brooks Koepka's most recent appearances, i.e. PGA Championship and CJ Cup in Korea, then we can see that he tees up his ball lower now when he intends to use his driver. More, he sets the ball a bit further back in his stance, more or less in front of his left heel. As a matter of fact his downswing may look a bit steeper. I can imagine that some coach - who? - suggested him such a change. Anyway we cannot say that it was a mistake since Brooks goes on hitting monster drives right down the fairway most of the time. Come on Brooks!

I never noticed this until I started doing it on the course myself but look how long he stays looking down at the ball into contact and keeps his head down after it's gone. It's kind of a taboo thing in golf instruction nowadays to keep head down but it's really noticeable in this swing.

He definitely does not have a roll release as his club head is nearly square more than a foot from impact he might roll his arms some well after impact but that is really immaterial at that point. And people who keep their right arm bent longer in downswing like Brooks are the ones that have the drive hold release, the golfers that roll their hands late to square the club are the players that have very little right arm bend at impact e.g. Mickelson and their club just past impact with irons are more flippy and the head and shaft do not line up with the left arm when club is 6 inches or so past impact. Golfers with the roll release swing just past impact the butt of the club will point inside the left arm, players with a hold release the butt of their club will line up with the left arm or will point to the right just past impact and Brooks does that even with his driver.

A roll release ? I think you are missing some info here. First in your vid I hear your too many comments on how he gets in the impact position but I dont see a FO view of the impact and post impact .At 6.42 we have a slight view of the post impact but without the ball. But from that position we can see that he is NOT ROLLING THROUGH impact but AFTER IMPACT, which is quite natural. In this position left shoulder is still in internal rotation with the left elbow pointing to the target. Just try it . Put your left elbow in this position and try to roll your left hand. Good luck Right shoulder is in external rotation with the right elbow close to his body. In this frame the right hand still in extention with the palm underneath the left hand. In this same frame we can see clearly the crest of his glove . Go check Phil at the same position and you'll see what is a roll release. Go check Jamie Sadlowsky and you'll see the same bent left arm at impact. This is not a perfect swing but his release pattern is quite stable through impact. Do more research on the subject.

He keeps the left hand lower/outside and right hand higher/inside until passing the inside of right leg! That means the shaft is still upward with bendingback curvature. After that he start to pull the left wrist up and push the right wrist down. This creates rotational speed but the rotation always leave the club head behind the shaft. We see the club head goes forward the shaft before impact and l believe the head will shoot away by itself. So we need some extra power to drive the club head runs ahead of the shaft. This power comes from making the shaft spinning by roll both wrists counterclockwisly and somehow you will find the fingers are roll backward!. How to do this? I need some help.

His left leg stays as an anchor on the back swing. Don’t let the leg collapse. His hip turn is not that great but that’s ok. This allows an easy return to contact with great power and consistency. Again, don’t left the left leg collapse. You will begin to strike the ball with compression.

BK is not swinging this way today. Notice his new position at the top. The position he's in here keeps him from pulling or hooking the ball. But the current position causes him to pull the ball, which he did today in the FedX Champ. Then, to compensate he got out in front of the ball, pushing it far to the right. Who let him make this change? Or, did he do it without realizing it? Whichever, it cost him the FedX, no doubt!

Absolutely correct. The swing is like cracking a whip: you use the big muscles of the lower body to initiate the centrifugal force. I was a really big hitter and when I was really cracking it I felt that I was just holding on to the club to keep it from flying out of my hands. People go on endlessly about release and delayed hits and all that, and I found that all nonsense. Use your lower body correctly, and everything else follows automatically.

He's a very watchable player. I was rooting for him on Sunday at the 2018 Colonial (Fort Worth Invitational) but he just couldn't catch his playing partner, Justin Rose.

Isn't Rory longer?
@springhillgolfer878
@springhillgolfer878 6 жыл бұрын
Nope. Brooks hits it farther. But Rory is very long too. In spite of only being 5 9' and 160 lbs his perfect swing lets him create incredible swing speed. Perfect mechanics. Yeah, Rory regularly hits 350 yard bombs. So does Justin Thomas even though he's only 5 10" and weighs a wimpy 150lbs. Amazing that these little guys (like Rickie Fowler) can compete with guys that are over 6 feet tall and weigh 185 and up. Pretty sure that Brooks Koepka had the longest drive average at the 2018 US Open.

There's no relaxation in the forearms ... If you relax your forearms and start turning with the lower body that is not what happens.

This is a young mans swing,you need to be like 18-26 to drive hard into a straight left leg. I could say some elements of his back swing can be applied to a little older golfers,but not so much the downswing he's just young. This is like analyzing Michael Jordan's dunking motion when he was in his prime it ain't going to mean anything. I cant dunk so I assume I will never carry the ball 340 yards in the air anytime soon either.

Not a swing to copy for sure... I can count on one hand the number of golfers who hit with a bent left arm at impact.

In the back swing, getting the right elbow in the right place requires a very active adduction of the scapula. If the scapula does not adduct the R arm must ,move the elbow back which is not a good place for it . If you look at Brooks" left hand at the top of the backswing and draw a line from the hand down to the ground you will see it passes through his trail foot. I. have seen many good players achieve this position. But when I swing ,the same line drops down several inches. BEHIND. my trail foot. I think this means that I do not engage my right scapula enough in the backswing. and it puts me in a weaker starting point to develop. clubhead speed and power. Does thus make sense?Should I work exercising the muscles that adduct right scapula and make it more. active and stronger. and practice. trying to achieve the relationship between the left hand and the trail foot that pros do. ?

I hate to be rude but this is a terrible analysis of what he’s doing. He’s not pulling hands towards the ball - NO sport has it where hands go to ball. He’s pulling straight down, and too much talk of left leg. Notice his right knee goes towards target and his right foot comes off the ground early. That should be the focus of this video. Throw a baseball and tell me what your right foot and knee do

You significantly over complicated this. The reason there is any lag of ANY golfers hands, arms or club head and the back elbow leads is the right hip has initiated the downswing. Once that occurs, everything else LAGS behind. Closer to impact, the hips slow down and transfer their angular momentum to the upper body, then arms, then hands. then club. It isn't "rocket science".

Correct golf swings have to do with understanding how and why they are executed and those things are present in golf swing strategies , Jοmtοnο Naha (Go ogle it). My irons amplified Fifteen yards and my driver increased 25 after I finished reading through the tutorial for the 2nd time. Due to these improvements, I`m much more confident and I`m having more enjoyment with golf.

He’s not thinking all that. Lag isn’t sequence it’s from a bent right arm. I guarantee the clubs past his hands at impact but it’s not flipping, it’s scooping. It starts undoing about his right thigh. All good players do it. It’s not rotation of his forearms. We can square the face with our upper arms. His right arm never straightens till well after impact. Close to himself to load, farther to release.
