Thank you, Cobra, for taking a chance on the one length system; they’ve helped my game tremendously and brought back much of the joy playing the game

Started Playing golf 11 months ago. I am 44 year old and variable length bothered me as it was too much to learn. Decided to get cobra radspeed one length hybrids, one length irons and one length wedges.. first game with one length (107). Currently I am 9 handicap. I just ordered ltdx. I am getting lighter shaft in 5 and 6 iron so it launches high and I don't have to hit it really hard to get the distance. I guess this is my only complain. My friends laughed at me when they saw my one length setup.. No one is laughing now 🤣

I am 70 with the flexibility of stone, 14 handicapper and I have a slower swing speed hitting a 7 iron 140 yards. Currently playing traditional length Cobra irons. Do those of you using the one length irons think these would make it easier for me to be more consistent?
@skol70118 ай бұрын
The biggest game improvement for my game was when I bought the Cobra F9 one length irons. The best money have I have spent on irons and also went to the LTDx driver which has been the best driver I have had to date. Thanks Cobra and I think the one length LTDx irons are going in my bag soon.

Years before Cobra, I had a set made for me, but all at 5-iron lengths. This way I don't lose distance on my 4,5,6 irons and can swing all at the same speed. One caveat: My wedges all are at regular lengths for touch shots.

Great irons. Weighting is excellent. The one length is great to limit the need to adjust body position for club use. Excellent for those with decreased or decreasing flexibility and mobility. I’d have cobra do a 2 and 3 iron about an 1” longer than the 5 through wedges. Then also add a chipper, and 56, 58, 60, 62 to the line at the same length as the 5-9 irons. I’d also do the hybrids 3, 4, 5 the same as the 2, 3 irons I suggested above 1” longer than the 5-9 irons. That would be my ideal full set. As far as fairway woods 3,5 I’m not sure the ideal length but I’d alter the bottom a little to make them better off the fairway and the rough.

In the eighties I had a set of Tiger shark, great whites.these were all the same shaft lengths from a seven iron to a three iron. Great set of clubs, easier to strike consistently.

Q-Would this be a good set to learn to find my swing on? I'm very inconsistent in making contact. Thanks.

Any set that's fit for you will be a great set to find your swing. Dialing in the proper specs regardless of the OEM will better set you up for success.

I understand the reasoning for the dynamic lie angles for most, but would be great to offer an option for uniform lie angles. I simply could not have the same setup without it.

Both swing weight and total weight will feel heavy with +2 inches in length. Did you go through a fitting to get them lengthened?

love these new irons and about to buy a set of LTDx One clubs...replacing my F9 set. Pity the "toe weights" are not available to fine tune these irons. Apparently warranty is voided if these are removed/replaced.
@GOLFTECLessonsFittings2 жыл бұрын
Did you go through a fitting for the LTDx irons? Was your fitter recommending different weights?
@oscarbevz20532 жыл бұрын
@@GOLFTECLessonsFittings Hi...hopefully all the heads will be ~272gm or at least identical in head weight. I'm in Australia...regional NSW (Tanilba Bay) ...I got fitted just for lie angle, did not do head weights...was done at a retail store, with knowledgeable staff, rather than a "proper" fitter. I have been "tuning" clubs since 2005 or so, with some discussions with Tom Wishon. I have Golfmechanix MOI machine, CPM machine, laser spin alignment plus other stuff needed to match clubs if needed. It's just a hobby. Including a Skytrak system to a 4mx3m screen, and Kinovea recording software on a separate computer and separate screen with 3 cameras, one @ 550fps facing the golfer, a behind (down the line) camera 330fps and one above the head pointing straight down at 120 fps. It also has "auto" sound record - instigated by sound of ball-strike, records 1.5 seconds prior to sound and stops at total of 4.5 seconds, so I can video myself if needed. These times are adjustable. Also I don't have to tell visitors - "I'm recording, you can hit now!" Enough stuff to drive me crazy as. Personally I'm not that "good". I'm 73, play off 14 and won our recent B grade scratch/net championship. Occasionally I play well. What I don't have is a bending machine, as I know that is a skill I don't have. Will update yardages comparisons when the LTDx irons arrive. Regs Osc

I am a strong believer in the single length irons concept. Currently I'm gaming the Pinhawk SL for 2,5+ years and will most likely never switch to variable length. The offset variable and lie angle variable troubles me in my head. So the research by Cobra might be sound ... but it doesn't click between my ears. I want everything to be the same. There is for me the other trouble in paridise and that is that the wedges for one lenght that are available have different swing weight too just as the utility iron has. So the feel in the hands is then different and rhythm is then different. So I'm loving it that Cobra pushes the one length forward ... and I'm hoping there will be a set available that will have everything the same. But time will tell. Cool interview, ... thx. 🤘🏻😎🤘🏻

Great interview. I remember on another video one of the fitters at GolfTec said someone would need a lot of swing speed to get the most out of these. Do you feel the same?
@GOLFTECLessonsFittings2 жыл бұрын
They are always changing. I'd say now its more about having a higher ball flight like they mentioned. If you typically keep the ball low then it will be hard to get proper gapping out of the longer irons at the 7i length.

This setup will work for shorter people. Myself at 2 meters tall will definitely look into this setup for my short Irons from 8- sandwedge becomes a strain on my lower back.

I find it rather comical that each year club and ball manufacturers come out with a new model which they claim is bigger and better than the previous one. It gives me the impression that they are spoon feeding the consumer one improvement at a time. There aren’t too many secrets in this industry and they all can see what the other is doing. I can play as well with my five year olds set as I can with the new and improved replacement set. A great deal is marketing and the consumer plays along with promotion. This idea of one length is creative thinking that might improve some golfer’s game.

I wonder what gains an average golfer would see if the set was incremental up to the seven iron and then (one) length in the 4,5,6, hybrids etc.
@GOLFTECLessonsFittings2 жыл бұрын
Lots of variables there, but overall the majority should see improvement in contact in the longer clubs
@oscarbevz20532 жыл бұрын
single length is designed to have identical MOI requirements...(check out MOI vs SW) same feel, use the same muscles in the swing and the same tempo if needed. That way if you create a L-L swing, you can get rather consistent gapping for touch shots. Plus you can always grip down on the wedges etc. The 7 iron to PW/GW are the money shots.

My friend was selling a set, F9s, he couldn't get on with them, i tried them, loved the longer Irons, definitely easier to hit, but like him i couldn't get the flight i wanted on the short irons, also found chipping and pitching feel very odd, definitely not for me.

Those are fair comments for sure. We see several players grip down on their short clubs to make them feel more comfortable and to feel like they can control them better

I’m surprised that anyone can work with Bryson. His copy of Moe Norman’s style of hitting, which even Moe claimed was for him only seemed to work at times when he hit fairways. His success comes from developing upper body muscle and he muscled the ball toward the target. I never thought that any success came from physics just the Moe Norman method.

I'll be 70 yrs old this year. Would single length clubs help my game??
@GOLFTECLessonsFittings2 жыл бұрын
Hard to answer that without collecting some shot data to see how high you typically hit your irons and what kind of ball speed and spin you get with the ball you play. That's the importance of going through a fitting so we can see that data and help guide you to a decision that will help you play your best golf.

yes...I'm 73 and have been playing with the F7, F9 and soon with the LTDx irons. I found my secret to getting these high is playing them close to the inside of my left foot (am right hander).

Why don’t they make a 3 iron?
@GOLFTECLessonsFittings2 жыл бұрын
Great question. One I'll pass along to COBRA and see if we get an answer. I'm sure it has to do with lack of need because few people will be able to carry a 3iron the proper distance from the 4iron in a one length and get it to have the correct descent angle to stop. I'm sure their are some out there who can but probably not a big enough market to produce the 3iron head. Just my guess.
@booboojones25902 жыл бұрын
Thx for response. I tried to order a 19 degree 4i from their one length set on their website but it was way to confusing. They need to work on that.
@kourt24692 жыл бұрын
Because 99.9% of golfers don't have enough speed to elevate a 3 iron that is 2 inches shorter than a normal 3 iron. Lose a lot of club head speed with that short of a shaft
