This ride looks amazing! Though I really don't like the lift hill changes in the sense that I feel that it lost some of its character. However, I do like how the inverted stall is now a lot more open.

I feel like since it's a wooden roller coaster that the train would fall off the tracks going upside down for that long of time, but that's my opinion, and I'm also not an engineer so idk?

Really Disappointed that the lift hill is not supported by a wood structure anymore THIS RIDE WOULD HAVE BEEN SO MUCH BETTER WITH THE STALL ELEMENT INSIDE THE LIFT HILL PURE WOOD SUPPORT STRUCTURE it went from a 10 star rating down to a 2 star rating

I think it looks better with the new steel support. You can actually see the zero g-stall now because it's not hiding behind all that wood. :P

Urethane wheels, steel box track, steel supports over large areas of the ride, with only a wooden stack that partially supports the steel track in some areas. Definitely not a wooden coaster in a lot of people's minds.

The track isn't I-Box, It's topper, and from what most can see the ride is still mostly made of wood, so it is indeed still a wood coaster.

No. Topper Track is still a steel box, that is layered onto a wooden stack. It's sub-supported/positioned with outer ties made of steel. Iron Horse just omits the wood stack. The only reason people considered Outlaw Run a wooden coaster was because it was to have steel wheels, which kept the classic feel of a wooden coaster...which Goliath does not have. The bottom line is there is no official governing body that regulates terminology, so theme parks and manufacturers can say whatever they want to and there is nothing anyone can do about it.

The object that makes a hybrid identify with a wood or steel is the track, so if this animation is wood (hard to tell) its a wood coaster, so if the park says it is wood then it has wood tracks, case closed

A typical wood coaster has 8 pieces of wood stacked. On this ride the top two pieces are replaced by steel.

ChicagoWhiteSox20 The Lift Hill Structure is different. They probably did this so they could get the building done for the ride in time and wouldn't need as much wood

The lift hill was more than likely changed for noise complaints, wood price vs steel, the maintainance of it and the new look is a first. Plus RMC(Rocky Mountain Construction) is known for innovation.

They probably changed it so that the 0-G stall could be seen from everyone in the park. because otherwise you would not be able to see it because it was on the opposite side of wooden supports of the lifthill
