It's hard to over-estimate the effect John Hume has had on the Island of Ireland and our future. I grew up in an Ireland where I didn't have to worry about bombings or shootings in the same way my parents did and I hope my children and grandchildren will be able to do the same. For that I will be eternally grateful to Mr Hume. Thank you.
