One of the best showcases of how annoying Gon's stubborn nature can get, lmao

Its honesty crazy how Gon underestimated his opponent 😭 The only people in the exam that could beat Hanzo are hisoka and illumi

I like how togashi set up this tournament arc only to say hah I already did the greatest tournament arc in yu yu so here you get one fight and it's not even that great. it's funny bc I think the hunting part was the more interesting part of this exam everyone thought this big tournament arc was coming bc of how good the dark tournament was but togashi was like nope. lol

i love how this fight is a representation of how Hunter x Hunter rejects the more boring and predictable Battle Shounen conventions. Killua's commentary is clearly a stand-in for your generic Jump reader. "What's going on here? Why is the mood so much lighter than before?! Gon hasn't gotten stronger than his opponent! Nothing has changed!". it doubles as both the perspective of like, a boring person who only cares about who can punch harder and not the story, and as a very sad view into Killua's mind, where he can't comprehend the social cues at play because his whole life, all he's known is the strong killing the weak. we've all seen "guy gets stronger to beat a strong enemy" a BILLION times, so it's nice to see it subverted. especially since that was the general vibe of the author's previous manga, Yu Yu Hakusho, and was definitely one of YYH's flaws. while I did love the series, the fighting became repetitive at times. meanwhile, in Hunter x Hunter so far, there have been hardly any fights with a focus on building up character. since, if you think back, every fight so far was for the sake of character building, not for something boring like smashing action figures together. that's fun when you're a kid, but naturally, an adult has finer tastes. of course, that's not to say there's anything wrong with fight scenes, but they must always serve the story, and not the other way around of the story existing so that there may be fights.

Sheesh, I feel stupid. Took me this long to realize that Leorio's VA was the dad from Dr Stone. (Keiji Fujiwara, may he r.i.p.)

If you liked A silent voice you should definitely watch “I want to eat your pancreas” its got a really sad ending but it has a really good message, and if you want more sad endings you should also watch “cyberpunk edge runners”, another amazing show.

Gon unknowingly turned the fight into a battle of willpower, and Hanzo was extremely outclassed.
@TheJackal159 Жыл бұрын
Not really. The main difference is that Hanzo is a good person and Gon isn’t.
