Our 1969 Ford Econoline pop top camper by TEC had the exact same cot design in the pop-up portion for additional sleeping. Other than some very old maritime ships, I’ve never seen it anywhere else.

My 5' X 10' floorplan is more like a squaredrop - galley aft, bunk forward, but I've been pondering how best to preserve some convertibility of at least half the bunk into itself in order to have some lounge space. As usual, the timing of your videos are spot on! Thank you so much, Rick. Say hi! to Linda. Cheers!

When me and the wife were still tent camping I set up good quality military cots and they were very COMFORTABLE! Only problem is my wife was not happy about us sleeping in our own bed/cot and wanted to be sleeping with me. I ended up buying a good quality air mattress so we could sleep together. We used that mattress for years when it finally gave it up. I finally built a bed frame with a queen size mattress in our CTC and the wife is very HAPPY now!!

I've watched the evolution of your cargo trailer and it's the best! And who needs granite countertops, just a lot of unnecessary weight! I did find a built out cargo trailer here in Whitefish a few months ago for really reasonable, but just felt like it would have been to much for me to handle on my own. But oh was I tempted! So I'll just enjoy watching the two of you enjoy yours❤

Part of the reason I have a cargo trailer is because of you two and Lex...so much of my build is based off your build videos (windows, solar, heat). I love going over the thought process into your systems...sends my brain off on its own tangents!

I can definitely testify to the benefits of the pipe berths. Based on your original video on them, we did something similar for our 6x10. Because I teach scuba classes out of it, we have a LOT more constraints--permanently mounted air compressor, racks & shelves for training gear, scuba tanks cargo strapped to the wall. We don't have a side door, which is both a blessing and curse. The blessing is that it gives us more wall space for shelves. The curse is that we have no choice but to enter/exit through the back. This, of course, prohibits semi-permanently setting up pipe berths. BUT, by placing mounts towards the back and towards the front (basically flanking either side of the air compressor along the wall) we can easily setup the two berths at night. And, yes, they are VERY comfy. I've even slept comfortably with two of our dachshunds in bed with me! Anyway, in the mornings we just take the berths out of the mounts, roll them up and they tuck nicely against the wall behind the air compressor--out of sight, out of mind.

Really like that setup. However, I need an enclosure for my “business”. But I believe it can still be done but maybe a 6x12 or 14 would be more my style. But your trailer is absolutely awesome!!! Take care!

YT froze up at :30 seconds, had to finish watching after reboot. I've built 2 trailers in the past 24 years, and we lived in a 21ft 1970 Pace Arrow class A, 3 episodes separated by years. Now i have looked into 10 and 12 ft long, for my next Nomad rig, but I'm no going to build it from the ground up. I'm 6'2" and want more room to stretch out, so width is important for a transverse bed, maybe I'll put in a small slide out for my big feet. 😮 Mahalo nui, Aloha.

I really love everything you set up in this trailer, it works well for the type of off-road camping you enjoy! I like watching channels that hit the road using a variety of different camping, including car camping all the way up to the super luxury... Staying in a budget can be challenging but there is also an ART to it that I enjoy watching. You and Linda are in my top 3 favorites, mostly because you are so good at describing areas you visit including the History. I can tell you really are very curious and love looking around a lot!

Yes sir, you've refined to a nice setup. We're starting our 4th year in our 7 x 14 cargo -> camper and we're almost there. We're still fooling with things such as netting to hold bedroom stuff in place during travel and upgraded our AC since we LOVE our k-cup. It's been a great hobby for the both of us and so much fun to adjust and try things along with getting out and seeing the country side. Look forward to mounting things outside details - I especially would like to do 1 or even 2x 5gal gas can. We're in Southern Oregon and are getting ready to try some 7 day trips which puts us in range of getting to Montana and maybe we'll see you as we pass on the highway :)

I just bought a used but insulated 5x8 cargo trailer with a side door and ramp door because of you and Lex&Riot and Bob Wells. I’m towing with a 4Runner and didn’t want too big of a trailer. I have a hitch extension that I’m hoping will make backing up easier. I was wondering since I’m 5’4” if I could make it sleeping diagonally if I made the pipe berth a little wider! Yes!

We have videos on the table and how we instaʻled the windows. We had our cargo trailer and used it for hauling a 2-up ATV, then did the conversion to camper when we got rid of the ATV.
