Got a used 2012 Ritz vdi in 2014, learnt driving on it. The engine was a hoot, loved the placement of tacho, AC was awesome and so was the comfort but due to NGT sold it at 80k kms. And oh boy i still miss it to bits, Dad bought 2 Wagonrs 1.0 consecutively once in 2016 then in 2021 and it can never match the experience the Ritz gave in terms of comfort both front & rear, suspension😢.

Ritz was actually a car which would give more value for less money, the new wagon-r lacks a lot of features if compared with ritz and now the top model of "wago" costs 7 whooping lakhs!!

@@royalenfield6457 thanks for the reply sir. Would like to know your suggestion on the below points. If you have driven any other cars from Hyundai like grand i10 or Honda or a nexa platform ignis, Baleno etc then how is the clutch ? I have listed few options but in south most of the cars are priced high 1. Ritz zxi 68,000 km second owner 2014 model for ₹3.45 lakhs 2. Grand i10 sports 45,000 km first owner 2014 model for ₹3.60 lakhs 3. Etios liva gx petrol 70,000 km second owner 2017 model for 3.80 lakhs 4. Hyundai i10 2010 65,000 km first owner for 2 lakhs 5. Brio VX(0) second owner 60,000 km 2017 model for 4.50 lakhs 6. Brio S Mt 2012 second owner 70,000 km for 3 lakhs Jazz might be available at a better value for money proposition like under 3.6 lakhs but isn't the car a bit big to drive for new drivers.

I still drive a 2012 silver Ritz (base, LXI) as my daily city car. It's my wife's who bought it before we got married and chose it over the likes of Ford Figo, the Wagon R even though it was the most expensive of the three (Swift was even more expensive and out of budget). Ritz has the handling of Swift with the headroom of Wagon R. It has a robust shell and a strong AC that still chills the cabin in peak summers. I agree with you that it is a difficult car to replace in today's time. Do let me know though which cars you shortlisted to replace it as I have to replace it sooner or later as it's coming to 15 years and we're in Delhi. Would've loved to have kept it though.

Ritz is the car that brought 1.2 k series engine into India. I still remember when Swift had 1.3 g series and Ritz 1.2 matched if not bettered it on every aspect. Maruti has time and again had ugly/ polarizing looking cars which sold parallel with other models. Zen classic WagonR MAV A star Ritz Spresso to name a few. If looks didn't matter all these cars did their job very well. Maybe since Suzuki is Japanese the quirkiness always stays !
@kunalsen21233 ай бұрын
Ritz also had the first BS4 compliant engine in India. So, it's historical in many ways. PS: You can add Ignis to the list of cars with quirky looks but stellar everything else.

I agree. Mileage isn't its strongest point. I also get single digits on bad city days when there's congested traffic. And 13's about what I get on long runs.

We owned diesel Figo 1st gen. and it was something! Drove it for 1.5L kms and only did some transmission repairs and apart from that consumables. We never owned a Ford before 😊and it was a surprise! Brakes were impeccably strong and torque was nothing like we expected before! God I miss it!!!

Sir I have one question please reply. The central electrode of spark plug of my pulsar ns200 is missing. I don't know from how many time it's missing. I'm worried because I think it may damage the piston/cylinder/valves. One mechanic told me that it would be exited through the exhaust valve and I don't have to worry about it. Please let me know your opinion on this issue.
@naveennarayana_3 ай бұрын
It's not that easy to get out of cylinder and into the exhaust. Because the 4 valve engine has 2 exit valves which are small and hard to allow that electrode through them. Even if by chance.. if it exited to exhaust, it will still remain in exhaust and wont come out of the exhaust opening in the under belly pan. Because the exhaust's internal design is like a mace. My suggestion is go to a mechanic and first remove the exhaust alone and try to see if the electrode is in it. If it's there, pull that out using gravity. If it isn't in exhaust, then use a torch qnd check the engine head via exhaust hole of the head. If it's still not visible, then you may have to disassemble the engine head and take it out
