The irony that Tyler Perry acted better in this this than he does in most of his own films.

I'm surprised, Tyler Perry was really good in this. Rosamund Pike was good also of course. Smart thriller.

It wasn't parodying Fox News in the media part. It was parodying Nancy Grace.

I know, where the hell did they get this idea that it was parodying Fox?

Idk I watched Nancy Grace with my mom and that media portrayal felt spot on to me. Maybe I’m wrong.

The closest movie to Gone Girl this year is... The Handmaiden!

SPOILERS! I might be a minority but I didn't like the ending. Amy Dunne just left so many clues behind and the detective still just gave up. Following the detective was completely useless because she didn't achieve anything and in the end how Nick Dunne won the detective over was completely sidelined. I understand how people might think that the ending is great because it is so twisted but it didn't work for me. Amy Dunne wasn't this Keyser Söze kind of mastermind so it was kind of lame that Nick Dunne couldn't outsmart her.

Kimmo Laaksonen I'm glad that I'm not the only one who didn't like the ending. To me, it would be easier for Nick and Amy to separate or a divorce to think things over instead of faking your death and framing your husband. There's also this one scene that made my jaw drop.....[SPOILERS]Even though that Nick told Amy that he was already late for something and she just said that she wants a baby. Now I don't a boyfriend or married yet but if she really wanted a baby and ready for a "yacht load" of responsibility that comes with raising a family together she could have just waited until Nick came back and let him rest for a while so that way they could discussed it a lot better.

There's allot of people with a nice public image in real life that do horrible shit and get away with it, because they're likable and can play well for a jury. Now yes I would agree that the movie might be a tad exaggerated. But the ending is just pointing out that society never really wants the whole truth. And the truth can't top the perfect story Amy created. Amy created the perfect narrative simply to burn Nick to the ground, and society ate it up. So if she can easily manipulate things to put public opinion in her favor, what can Nick do? Seriously put yourself in his position and tell me what you think would happen if you tried telling the truth.

Wendy Saaid when the husband was suspected of murder, there was a serious investigation on him. when the wife confessed her murder, it was fine. Then there was "that's how marriage is!" as if its ok to live with the a psychopath. Yet, the moment he was a bit violent (due to her aggression as well) and pushed her, she felt the need to buy a gun to protect herself. Finally, "I kill for you!". This line also taken uncontested in the movie. NO she didn't, she killed for herself, to protect herself (not in a defensive way either, cause the guy being killed was in any way trying to harm her). If the man said the same line, nah! because men are selfish pigs. Yes, men cheat, so do women, the movie condemns it, while condoning psychopathic behaviors for women, due to some mild marital stress.

It does the EXACT opposite! It's just a modern take on the Femme Fatale movies of the 30s, 40s and 80s. Women unable to bear a child will go crazy and destroy the life of their husband. That's the whole moral of the movie! That's why even though The Girl on the Train is a less well-made movie, I prefer it to Gone Girl.
