In Fact, The Derelict Hyundai Elevator at National Book Store Quezon Avenue is still intact.

The opposite to this one's situation has occured a few times on hydraulic elevator replacements here in Australia; exhibit a, a Schindler 5500 at BCEC replacing a M-Series hydraulic, that could not possibly be bottom room traction; and yet, there isn't a MRL cabinet in sight, meaning that the controller likely resides in the motor room.

That place looks like it has seen better days. Interesting to see an FPGA chip (the Xylinx) and a DSP on the circuit board. I wonder if the electronics have any water damage.

I would never have put my hand in that cabinet full of spider webs haha So sad to see it in a derelict state!

Had to be quite brave facing my arachnophobia while filming the cabinet, luckly none of them came out when I pulled the cabinet open. This is why I didn't try to pull open the landing door!

Curiganya ini sih bukan bottom driven MRL melainkan bottom drive biasa yg mesinnya di bawah pit (perkiraan seperti lift kapsulnya Pacific Place Jakarta)

At 2:41 did you notice a black data plate near the bottom left of the light grey cabinet door?
@idl3k_elev2 жыл бұрын
I checked my photo again, that was actually a hole (probably an air ventilation).

I also don't think Hyundai make MRL elevators in the 90s. That being said, someone must have been tampering with this elevator throughout the 9 year period since u last recorded this elevator. If not, the controller cabinet must've been kept shut and the landing doors wouldn't have gone slightly open like what you showed in the video. Could also be a sign of workers analyzing the elevator for replacement, though.

Hyundai started launching their MRL model (YZER, known as SpaceSaver-I at that time) in 1999, while this elevator was installed in 1997 or 1998 based on my estimation.
@idl3k_elev Жыл бұрын
(Update) Someone from my local Schindler office told me that he didn't see the machine on top of the shaft when he checked this elevator recently, meaning that the machine could be on the pit and it could be a very early Hyundai MRL (SpaceSaver-I). If so, this could be one of the first known MRL elevators in Bali (other than Alta Moda's 2002 KONE MonoSpace), or could also be one of the very first Hyundai MRL elevators in Indonesia. He said that the former restaurant will be repurposed into a school so this elevator will definitely be replaced soon as the owner wanted a new elevator since the staircase is too high. Not sure whether this thing will be replaced into a Schindler or something else; the Schindler guy didn't tell me more about this so I can't confirm.

@@idl3k_elev : Perhaps also the one and only Hyundai BD MRL in Indonesia? "A school" - I bet it will be none other than a generic. I don't think one would risk installing a high-class elevator only to have kids jumping inside and ruining the elevator. From Google images, it seems like that's what Olifant School Jogja did. But again, who knows if they chose Hyundai to mod this elevator despite its badly ransacked condition. And again, my suspicion is made provided that the school will be a kindergarten and/or elementary.
@idl3k_elev Жыл бұрын
I'm not sure about that. There could be another similar Hyundai elsewhere in Indonesia which hasn't been discovered yet. Still quite interesting though.
@idl3k_elev Жыл бұрын
And they already did. It's now gone, but I won't spoil the brand of the newly replaced elevator. It's going to be quite disappointing sadly.

When WC-VF reaches the floor, the arrow disappear or change direction when someone calls the elevator. But STVF model’s arrow always changes when it reaches the last floor. ($ STVF released in 1997 $) 96s WC-VF : kzbin.info/www/bejne/npyQiJ-PhM2Ij9U 98s STVF : kzbin.info/www/bejne/fWGscpRjgcZsbJo

Thanks for the clarification about the arrow logic. Seeing how the arrow in this particular elevator was still "jumping" even when the elevator has reached a floor then it's a STVF-1. Probably one of the first Hyundai STVF elevators installed in Indonesia How about the size of the door sills? WC-VF have slimmer/thinner door sills while 60VF and BAX-VF have thicker door sills, is that correct?
@귀찮햐2 жыл бұрын
@@idl3k_elev That’s right.
@idl3k_elev2 жыл бұрын
I knew it. Also 60VF/BAX-VF have C-type keyhole on the landing doors (similar to VAC) while WC-VF ones don't. The door bumpers are also different as well, black for 60-VF/BAX-VF (again, similar to VAC) and white for WC-VF and early STVF.

@@idl3k_elev : So, with this explanation, we can say that Sanglah General Hospital's old Hyundai that had an "out of service" disease back when you rode it is an STVF. Novotel Jogja's Hyundai is a WCVF too, perhaps.
@idl3k_elev2 жыл бұрын
I'd say Novotel Yogyakarta (now Kimaya by HARRIS) are WC-VF. The ones in Hard Rock Hotel Bali are also believed to be WC-VF as I found out that the hotel was actually opened in May 1998, not 1993. If the Hard Rock Bali ones were installed in 1993 then they would've been 60VF or BAX-VF instead. The ones at Sanglah Hospital (Wing Amerta and Mahottama) are early STVFs due to the arrow changing right when the elevator stops. I will probably do another take of them next year as I heard that Wing Amerta's elevators have been modernized by Hyundai.
