Congratulations Mr. Amundson for teaching your kids good skills and right thinking. On a theological note, I figure Jesus must have died on Wednesday late afternoon and spent Wed/Thurs/Fri night as well as Thurs/Fri/Sat in the grave. The day of preparation when the lamb was killed for the passover would have ended Wednesday at sundown. The Passover (a sabbath day no matter what day of the week it falls on) would have been Wednesday sundown to Thursday sundown. The women probably prepared the spices on Friday since they couldn't work on either of the sabbaths. Meanwhile, the weekly Sabbath ended at sundown on Saturday. Before Saturday night concluded, that grave was empty. "As it began to dawn toward the first day of the week" (before actual sunrise), an angel came and rolled the stone away for man's sake. Jesus probably already rose and exited the tomb sometime during the night before the angel's arrival, but in any case, that event beat sunrise. Three days and three nights per the testimony of Scripture. :)
