Indeed. I'd never let my 80 yr old fellow hiker who is not well to go alone, even if they were being stubborn I'd say, "Look here stubborn old man, even if you say no, I'll follow you back. Period, start walking, let's get outta here. I'll hike the trail next weekend or something." Life and safety above all. No adventure is worth someone life or health. The adventure can wait for another day. I also live in S TX so our hikes can be crazy hot so if someone says they feel suddenly weak or not well I order them to sit, pull a frozen orange from my bag and have them start eating it while putting frozen water bottles on the sides of their neck to start cooling them fast then get cool water into them until it passes, then we go back. Can't go forward w someone showing signs of illness

While this does seem like a very unusual occurrence I would like to remind you that this is only a common theme in the searches that are unsuccessful. I think rather than meaning that if someone disappears weather is likely to go bad, it means that if weather does go bad it’s much more likely to be an unsuccessful search than if it stays calm if that makes sense.

Great episode. As for Chris, I think (obviously, just my opinion...what do I know?) he either met with foul play at hands of the people he worked with, OR something or someone took him. He may have literally been snatched up and carried off. That would explain things dropped on ground, including loose change that may have fallen from pants or coat pockets. Fiber on barbed wire and boot on ground may have happened when he was lifted or dragged over barbed wire fence. Either way it's tragic. God bless his family and loved ones.

Haven’t watched video yet but I guess your talking bout Cristopher Tomkins the surveyor... My guess is he was snatched by a Giant Thunderbird, he was Afterall last in line, had his back turned, concentrating on his work. Once again his work colleagues didn’t hear or see a thing which doesn’t surprise me when examining Thunderbird attacks. The bird obviously struggled a bit to gain height which would explain his boot caught on the fence !

First could be hypothermia. 18 inches of snow means it was cold enough, and removal of clothes is one of the odd side-effects of extreme hypothermia. Second one sounds like he was looking for shade. Cyprus, guessing it was pretty hot and he went back to sit in a car. If he for any reason couldn't get the air con to work, that's the worst place to be. I got left in a car outside a supermarket on a hot day once. No keys, no air con, and it became unbearable within 10 minutes. They say the place he was was inaccessible, but he was found there in a sitting position, so he clearly found a way to access it. It may have been described as inaccessible by the authorities as justification for why they didn't search it at the time. The poor guy just wanted some shade in my opinion.

Paradoxical undressing seems to be a theory in lots of these cases. That's what they want you to think so hypothermia seems more probable. The ones who's remains are never found are just the kind they're looking for is all. Ancient evil entities traveling between the realms.

@@danieltull6724 Not being able to find remains doesn't need a supernatural explanation though. Steve Fossett is a good example. They knew roughly where he disappeared, massive and hugely expensive search involving people on the ground, aircraft, and satelite tech, and they didn't even find the wreckage never mind his body. It took someone stumbling on his ID before they found the crash site, and even then all they found of his body was a small piece of bone. His whole body would have been present at the time of the crash, yet scavengers effectively removed all but a tiny trace.

In the first case of Sentai early likely that he was experiencing hypothermia and one of the symptoms is right before you die you feel very very warm so you end up taking off all of your clothes so that's why they were found all folded and neat

I can honestly say from at least my experience working in the woods on the coast of British Columbia, it’s vastness and density, no way to find everyone! I was lost overnight, it’s a mind fuxk’!! Finally found a logging road at around 1 pm the next day after obviously not sleeping and completely exhausted!

It should be pointed out that the phenomenon of ppl missing in the wilds randomly removing their footwear is actually strangely common. Sometimes the footwear is found, but the body never is. Other times, the body is discovered yrs later, but their shoes are never found. Its bizarre, but there must be some rationale for it. Even ppl who have gone missing in the wilderness and turn up days or weeks later often have little to no recollection of why they shed their clothing or belongings. The more of these unexplained disappearances i read about, the more i find myself wondering if theres some physiological effect these wild places have on certain ppl...causing them to flee, or become disoriented and unimaginably lost

My grandfather had a friend who ended up killing his ex girlfriend and her new partner with a shotgun, he served 20 years in prison and then was allowed a weekend out a week before his actual release, he vanished without a trace one week before he was set to be released

The story about Chris is the one with the most bizarre holes. His supervisor says his behaviour was bizarre but Chris's mother denies this. The amount of time between him "disappearing" and his family or the authorities being contacted is also a red flag. Regarding his boots - unlikely he took them off to "run faster". It's easier to run over rough terrain (i.e. in the woods) with shoes than without. Also, if he took off one to increase speed, he would have removed the other because running with one boot on is sure to slow you down. Most likely scenario: his co-workers/supervisor know exactly what happened to him - and perhaps participated in it.

I'm thinking it's possible that someone in the hiking group asked if Bruce wanted company going back, but he perhaps said something like "No, I'll be fine, you just continue the hike, and we'll meet again when you return to the starting point". Not that it changes anything. Regardless if anyone asked if he needed company going back, or not, he did go back alone, and whatever happened, happened. Hope you have safe, and nice hike.

I feel like there is a small amount of flexibility with the term "inaccessible" as the reports generally mean this to be extremely difficult and potentially dangerous to access but at the same time, not impossible as clearly someone was able to access the area in the end. The term "extremely hazardous" would be a much more appropriate description as it would be a challenging position to find oneself in and an equally tricky one to try and get out of, while not being impossible. Where there is a will, there is a way.

Hi love your show I remember a show on tv years ago a young lad was always picked on by his big brother and his pals one day he ran to his house and hid in he moms room in the cupboard he was ran and chased the kids out the house when she opened the cupboard door there was no sign of the younger son . She called police and there called the fire department who pulled the cupboard apart no no sign of the lad was ever found again

The 3rd case with Chris/"Found His Boots", disappeared January 2002, is a case that I find very odd and frustrating for a variety of reasons, much as I suppose many others do. More than anything, however, what I find kind of weird, as well as suspicious, is that we are given so very few details in the overall story. I mean, compared to countless other stories that are just as unusual, if not more unusual, we are often given all kinds of information, such as witness statements, information regarding people last seen with the victim being questioned by police, even polygraphed in many cases, etc., but we just do not have that with this case. I am in no way implying these things were not done - however, we simply are not given or are privy to these details if they exist. Another thing about this case - and I could be misremembering and I am hoping somebody here in the comment section might know what I am referring to. I seem to recall hearing of these very story before - maybe a few years ago on a similar type channel as this one. However, I seem to recall a bit more in the way of details being given as it relates to information regarding Chris's behavior around this time, or even on this very day he disappeared, more info on the crew and their experience levels, as well as Chris perhaps being new to this particular crew. I recall it being said Chris was acting oddly leading up to his stating he was leaving, perhaps taking a late lunch break or something, but it was found unusual and possibly something that wouldn't have been OK according to the particular rules these crews have to follow based on the work they do? Last, I heard something about his car, an SUV, I think, having been found REALLY far away, burned out to a husk? Am I confusing this with another case or does anyone remember this? Sorry if I am totally wrong here, lol, but it's been bugging me and I figured I had to ask least ask. I am not as well-researched in this genre of some of you likely are. Thanks.

I really have to revisit this case, so I'm not much help. It's a whopper indeed. Idk why his coworker would say he was acting strangely unless he was trying to throw off investigators. Were they investigated? I'm sure they would have had evidence all over them. This is one that looks like possibly foul play but I highly doubt it. My theory is something is hunting people from under the ground.

I grew up in the mountains of Colorado, and have never been disoriented here. I couldn't ever get my bearings near Mt Bachelor in Oregon, after a month in the area I was still lost every walk I took in Bend let alone in the forests there. Mt Bachelor is a well known ski area in the area, and it can blizzard in October there, so it's possible his shoe got postholed and lost in the snow, and he lost his glove trying to dig for his shoe. Without a shoe in snow you're not going far, and he succumbs to the elements just for local wolves to find him? As for the last one it really sounds like Chris either ran away, or stumbled onto something he wasn't supposed to see and they made him empty his pockets and remove his shoes before marching him out of there.

About Bruce, knowing how people on Cyprus drive, I suspect he got hit by a car or truck while walking back to the starting point. He died in that accident and the driver of the car dumped him off that bridge to get rid of the body. My two cents.

@@deankirby7237 According to the video, yes. Sitting on his arse and with his back against the vertical support structure. Pretty much impossible to do that by falling off the bridge itself. For him to get there like that, he would have had to put himself there, or have been put there. That's not to say he didn't get thrown off a bridge after being hit by a vehicle, but that is saying if he got thrown over, he either survived long enough to put himself in that position, or was put like that by someone else after he got down there.

The last story has always been so sad and weird to me. It’s like something just snatched him up so hard, it took him out of his boots and snagged his pants on the fence. It seems his coworkers didn’t hear him scream or anything. From what I’ve heard and given the location and circumstances, there was racial and law enforcement tensions that complicated things even more especially after the family found evidence before police even left their offices. Chris was not only last in line, but he was out of sight of his co workers when he went missing ? His boot caught on the fence as the bird struggled to gain height, possibly forcing the bird to let go and allowing an already unconscious Chris to fall upside down spilling the contents of his trousers before coming back for the kill all done in complete silence !

Yeah. Too much trees, bushes, big trunks making shadows, also no human made noises, cars, you only hear buzzin and chirpin, the winds blowing. Its easy to imagine a shadowy figure lurking, following. A branch or sticks break, you hear it, its easy to think theyre after you. Especially without trails, which tires you alot, walking hiking like that, when youre tired, not enough oxigen, the brain starts tricking itself. Its easy to dissappear and get lost.

Scond case isnt that much bizzare. Guy was 82, he went alone but probably got a heat stroke, which made him disoriented and not in sane mind.he panicked probably, and went under the bridge to rest. How he went, he knows, probably it has an explanation. Maybe 5 months before it was easier to access that area, and guy was 82, he had brains. He figured it out.

The first case: at 78 years old, the guy was lucky he could even hike where he did. I was always one to poo poo the age thing, but now that I'm 69 and actually in good shape, still working as a college professor and all, I am definitely experiencing weird, unexpected health challenges. I wouldn't go hiking now, unfortunately, as used to love to go on long walks. Ooopsie, the old gray mare she ain't what she used to be.🤣🤣🤣

Ok, I had to stop when you said (first case) that the elevation was 7100 meters, which is over 23,000 feet. We don’t have any mountains with that elevation in the US. Did you mean feet of elevation? Also, the county sheriff said the condition of the clothes showed the presence of wild animals, but about 20 seconds later you relate that there was no evidence of an animal or third party attack regarding the clothing. Very confusing narrative.

I wonder what would happen if a person whho was missing in a particular situation like this one if he herd 1 of his daughters crying for help and for her father if it would snap him back to reality bc i think they are almost put into a trance, like tracks were found multiple places but he wasn't i wonder if they are under some "spell" if they herd there child crying for them if i could snap them back to there self

I don't put much stock into family and close friends saying things like 'He was acting totally normally' or 'In the 15 years I knew her, she never once showed any violent tendencies'. a. People are good at hiding this kind of thing b. Hitler was someone's sweet innocent son at one point c. Friends and family will deny it even if they know it's true, to paint that person in good light
