Awesome video. I'm looking forward to finish watching this installation series and researching a bit more before I purchase and start my own installation.

those connecters with the red tab you have to unlock, once you move them back you should be able to press just between the red part and the connecter to unlock it from the sensor/injector, i don't know how to explain it better, but you should not need to use a screw driver to unlock them. they are used all over the place in automotive, abs sensor and airbag connecters, you get used to it, but even then sometimes you do need to get at them the way you did, i use an l shaped pic. great vid, thank you! your videos helped push me over into buying a 2020 gear up, my first side car rig.

I must have spent 20 minutes trying everything before I just took a thin screwdriver and popped it free. I have big blunt fingers and just couldn't get in there to release it. I tried to emphasize that nothing takes a lot of force, not to free it, not to undo the clip etc... if you force it, you'll break it! Thanks for watching!
@grinmaul45113 жыл бұрын
@@GoneUraling another option, incase the screw driver method is not accessible, and some times its not, completely remove that red locking tab, it will come all the way out, then its up to you whether to reinstall the lock tab:) i do for customer cars, but not my own. your old harness is still around right, take a closer look at that connecter. either way you got it done.

That's what you do when you are on a trip and wear the pusher out, move the fresh one to the pusher and keep riding! We will be local for a while, it holds air enough to still be a spare but I will be putting new rubber on it before too much longer.

I also have the Raceway Ural rack on my cT. I think it is the best available for the 2/3rd seat configuration. I have the matching on the sidecar fender.

My wife loves it. We put the large Pelican style case on it, works great and is a solid foundation.
@werta50003 жыл бұрын
you can squeeze the locking style connectors on the injectors like the temp sensors, but despite knowing this I still put a flat head in them anyway. there are too many automotive connectors that have odd release methods, putting screwdrivers in them tends to work
@GoneUraling3 жыл бұрын
Sometimes, they just won't release and a small screwdriver or pick forces compliance!

Wow that looks fun. Was the kit still ~2500? Looks like Ural France is selling the kit for 2100 euros. Well done and looking forward to #2! Thanks for doing the video - I’m sure it makes things more complicated.
@GoneUraling3 жыл бұрын
Best to call a dealer for a quote on the kit, shop around. I purchased mine from Heindl Engineering. I tried to work in bits until I did something that seemed noteworthy, stop, clean my hands and video. I began to rush a bit toward the end of day one and beginning of day 2 because I had limited time to finish, but I still took the time to try and explain it all even though you don't get an "over the shoulder" view of me doing it. The entire process was fairly straight forward and having watched the footage, I think anyone planning to do this should find some value in it. As always, do your own work and don't copy me, I'm not an expert and am not trying to train anyone to do this.

Got mine installed. Three days off and on between the Christmas festivities. Mines a 2018. I noticed the fuse box is exactly the same so I didn’t change the wiring diagram decal. I had a hiccup on the right side and discovered when I had pinched the clamp it pushed the throttle body off the rubber and I had a little air leak. Now I’m trying to figure out the cable balance. I’m not sure how to do that. I screwed both cables all the way in. I have a set of vacuum gauges, I read you need to be at 1600rpm. So I have to research it some more.
@GoneUraling3 жыл бұрын
I didn't mention it, but yes, the fuse block sticker was identical to the 2017, I suspect it is for the 2014 to 16 models. For the cables, I balanced them by "eye and feel" first. I watch one while my finger is touching the other. As I roll on the throttle I watch for the first slight movement and match it to how the other moves from my finger. I adjust and repeat until as soon as I feel the one I'm touching move, I see movement on the other I'm watching. We put a couple hundred miles on them and I did the same to re-balance them a couple of times (cables stretched). After that, I actually installed Throttle Tamers (future video) and then balanced them for real using the vacuum ports and my Grok Harmonizer.

Both rigs have been great, these upgrades were done at the end of October, so we have almost 2 months riding them now. Fuel mileage went up to about 38 to 40 mpg for normal riding too. The performance is so much better, it is just hard to convey how different (and better) they run in a video.

Are there any adjustments or remapping that can be made to the EFI?
@GoneUraling3 жыл бұрын
Nope, not with the stock ECU. I'm told there is a pin for pin replacement ECU that can be installed for those that wish to tune their rigs, but I don't have any details on it nor do I plan to do that. I find the stock tuning to be perfect for us.

Thanks for the comment. I do not understand your question which translated as "You have two Uralai two without a leading stroller, why?" If you mean one of my Urals does not have leading link forks (also called Earl's forks) that is correct. One of the Urals is a Retro with telescopic forks. The cT in this video has the standard Ural leading link forks.
