Of all of the RV's I have been watching with the smackdowns.. where you did your thumb up and down vids.. These two here are my fav for functionality.. Id Really go for the Excursion with some of the features of the Discovery as upgrades if they were possible. I like that they sleep a good amount of people and also have lots of storage room for stuff.. upgrades like.. Generator... hot water.. The bathroom sink.. Batteries.. I like the styling of the Excursion best. The dual shades would be a great option also removing that curtain and adding a pull down shade instead. The discovery added that 3rd sink.. while the Excursion used that spot for dual Bunk.. Much better option IMO.. Because that could also be used for storage if needed.

Hey Guys, Love the videos. Really like how you side by side the reviews, not watching one long review of one than on to the next. The side by side makes it easy to compare bathroom to bathroom being back to back. In your travel if you ever reach Colorado or meet someone along the way I would love to see you both review the Earth Roamer Expedition RV. The reviews on here are not that great.

I'm going to go with the Discovery with that one. A lot of additional features with as he said, lot of extra space! If I were to buy one of those 2, I would choose Discovery!!!

For the same Size the Discovery has bigger and better everything. Newer features etc. The Excursion is pretty much a base model of the Discovery.

If only using it a few weeks a year during warm weather, the excursion is fine. If you will be living in it or using it often in very cold or hot climates, the discovery with its additonal insulation will pay dividends. If in fact it is truly well insulated.

Love the excursion, for the kids, the bunk beds are great ideal! Currenly traveling with fifth wheel and our next upgrade will be an RV. Do you have any suggestions for a class B motorhome? Thank you,

when you compared the excursion and Discovery I wish you talked about the brakes, they both look like they have air brakes but I only see a parking brake on the Discovery and I dont remember you mentioning an engine size ( the difference between 30 gal of fuel a day and 45 gal a day ) or 10 mph up a hill or 45 mph.

incredible big motorhomes, i preffer smaller, fit in a regular parking spot, cheap to run type of rv's. this is cool if you have a big family.

Or you travel with friends and their children. My sister, her husband and their three children have traveled several times with a family of six, and she said they were all very comfortable. The host family bought such large RV on purpose so they could travel with friends.

When Wendy was up for sale, you guys were looking at Bs, then after it sold you bought a larger A. Now, as hubby and I near retirement, I'm wondering if we should go a few feet larger for comfort and storage, or smaller for economy and flexibility?

From the little I have seen the electric instant units available for RV use are too small to generate the water temps needed for prolonged shower use. It would be one of those things were spending for what most people would call "overkill" would probably make a good long term investment.

bert26a The con with tankless is you have to run the water a while before the the hot water gets to you as there is a delay before it kicks on. (I have tankless in my home and hate the delay). In an RV, that basically means you'll fill your grey tank faster. The pro is if you are at a park with full hookups, you can take an endless hot shower.

Not really an apple to apple comparison. I'm guessing if you can afford the extra 100K, then, by all means go fer it. If, you can do without all the bells and whistles (and want to keep that 100K in da bank), the 35 footer is a nice rig.

Why does EVERY RV manufacturer insist on putting HUGE valances around the window shades? It takes area away from the windows. Why not tuck the mechanics of the day-night shades into the cabinets?

azimuth361 Well, I imagine it is to make any repairs easier since window shades or curtains are one of he easiest things to break on a motor-home, no matter what size (we had a TEC push up van conversion and I finally put bungy cords about 3 inches up from the bottom of every window to hold the curtains out of our faces - - cup hooks and a roll of the bungy type stretch cord in white worked wonders). Also, if you put the mechanics into cabinets, then you lose a lot of storage space and limit the depth of an awful lot of your overhead cabinets. Enclosed storage is very prized on an RV because everything has to be stowed or fastened down when going down the road, unless you happen to enjoy playing 52+ pick up every time you stop driving - - - NOT a fun game I can assure you ( I forgot o snap the bungy over our portable sink and jerry tank once. ARGH~~~ only did it once. That was enough to cure me and also to make my two kids bungy monitors and tattlers).

ben aller or the queen pull down bed for the drivers site , I use that to put crates up there and the dogs see with a Is going on and our out of the way . course you have to be part . I drive about 7 to 8,000 miles year with 28 to 20 dogs its tight when your on the road the crates have to be on the floor the when park you can stack them and up them on the pull down queen , which you use a button for all

In your article about small RV's you mentioned Diesel is the best option since you’ll be driving through mountains. Why is that? I live and FL and not all gas stations carry diesel.

Ccr Reilly I also live in Florida and my mom had a diesel car which I helped drive until she wrecked it about 11 years ago. We could always find diesel because we would look for truck service places, especially near major highways or Interstates. They always had diesel and since the fuel lasted longer than gas, it was pretty easy to plan stops or trips to get fuel. At home, with the advent of so many more diesel cars and pickups, she was even able to remove my dad's old solution of a 60 gallon diesel tank with a pump and hose so the car could be filled at home. Also, there are now double tank spill containment FLdep requirements to meet which were not there when Dad put in the tank in 1973 for their class A coach and his "super-truck" all of which were equipped with diesel engines.

Relationz and if your going to only use in the summer like I do to go to dog shows I love my rig wish it had better head lights on the Excursion , and the bed was side to side in stead of back to front. Things they don't tell you the Fleetwood Discovery, Kitchen wall comes detached, lots of slideout issues. If house batteries go low slideout can only be reset at a dealership $300 cost. Value of this unit will drop like a rock once you drive it off lot. Issues with generator, and the list goes on. These are paid actors, you will get screwed if you buy anything from these guys. According to Robert Blake manager 80% of their units have issues. Plus they infalte MSRP. Check the resale value of the unit you are buying. How can you lose so much money is so little time. Good luck with service. I my unit spent more time waiting or in service than on the road. Check YELP and BBB. Lots of complaints....... SAVE YOUR MONEY TAKE A CRUISE OR FLY TO WHERE YOU WANT TO VACTION. iT WILL BE CHEAPER AND YOU WILL ENJOY MORE. THESE GUYS SUCKS
