I haven't had the chance to try dozens of boards, but so far this is the best board for pumping. It's light, stiff, responsive, solid, well-made and cheap. It's easy to dockstart, effortless to pump, it recovers pretty well and you can swim on it.
Is this the best pump foiling board for beginners? Sure it's one of the best boards for flat water pumping you can get as an intermediate - advanced rider, but I believe you can also start straight away with it.
If you are wodering, what’s th perfect board size/length for pump foiling, I’ve git the answer: 80 cm.
So, if you are looking for a cheap hydrofoil pumping board that makes you pump longer and further and enhances your technique, check the following link (not referral link):

I also have the north scoop for pumping and I was also considering the Kluber, so good review thanks. Also riding Sirus (XL) so pretty similar setup as you (though I need more practice :D)

Just ordered the 95cm. They're shipping these to the US now which is great. Excited to try it. I also have a curve H 6xl on it's way as well (I'm 6'4" 210lbs). Excited to have massive options for someone my size. Also a new subscriber.

Nice review mate 👍. I'm not a big fan of 80cm boards (too small for me), if you are tall and light your front foot possition is usually touching the tip of the board and there ain't space to move your foot any further. But the biggest problem is to beachstart with such a short board, it's pain in the a.. 🙂 It's a pitty that the Takoon board is sold out unitl may, I love the rear-opening design of the rail system and also the weight of the board is amazing. Similar boards: Naish Microchip - perfect for traveling, it's tiny 80x34 Sabfoil B8 (last year model) - ❤my favorite, it's 90cm long, but probably the best size for pumpfoiling (dock, rock, beach)

Thanks mate! Perhaps tall individuals like you can still use 80 cm boards with a more advanced fuselage that moves the front wing further back giving you more room in front

I am riding a peanut2'11 and must say the only thing that needs some getting used to is that the front foot is all the way in the front of the board, which coming from skateboarding, snowboarding and surfing felt unnatural first. I would not want to go to a bigger board ever again.

I didn't know the Peanut 2'11 and clearwaterfoils.com so thanks for sharing, and I agree. At first a short board might feel odd, especially when you can feel the end of the pad with your toes, but after a couple of trials you get used to it and you can't go back

Do you think tracks are really needed on this board ? O just put mast in back position ?
@buenacloud
@buenacloud 2 ай бұрын
If you get better, you will change your foil for a smaller one, then it will make sense maybe to push your foil forward on the tracks. I use for example the same small board also for kitefoiling with a very small foil like the Sabfoil fluente W550 and then I have the mast more to the front. But if you want to stay with the only foil, then maybe you don't need the tracks. The tracks also have the function to make the board stiffer and more stable.
@gaeldaniele
@gaeldaniele Ай бұрын
Sorry for late reply! Tracks are important. However, you could make it without. you'd just be a bit less versatile when switching gear

Anyone have comparison between 80 and 95cm versions?
@gaeldaniele
@gaeldaniele 24 күн бұрын
Unfortunately not, however, they should be pretty similar. - 95 -> more for beginners, more room for feet placement mistakes - 80 -> more for intermediate, lighter, less 'lag', more direct connected feeling

How well does it float your 1310 with alu mast in fresh water? I'm worried about such small boards for my 1401 and 1180 as they are heavy and the wings don't provide much volume for float.

I'm thinking of either getting a 80cm board or a 100cm board from naish but I'm worried that with my big frontwing (gong sirus xxxl 186cm) the board is a bit too short or do I just have to get used to standing at the edge? Is the difference of 20cm noticable in responsiveness or feeling?
@gaeldaniele
@gaeldaniele 2 ай бұрын
I believe the wingspan of the front wing doesn't affect the actual front foot placement that much. What affects it is the distance between the leading edge of the front wing and the center of the mast. In Gong's setups this distance should be shorter than in my current Axis setup (Red standard short fuselage). I'd suggest you write to Gong's technical advice service, they are very professional and they reply super fast. www.gong-galaxy.com/en/help-contact/ However, I should be able to try your front wing with the Kluber 80 cm this week, so I might be able to answer your question directly with a video! With that said, for me the feeling of a short board is unmatchable. I don't think I will ever come back to a longer board, not even 90 cm, but it might just be a personal preference!

@@gaeldaniele So if the front wing is further away from the mast you need more board length to get the pressure on the front wing? If the board is too short you just dont get the full potential? I'm interested in your feedback on the Sirus 186cm. I have seen people using the 80cm Kluber with other Sirus wings which should have the same distance and otherwise Gong wouldn't advertise that board to fit perfect with the big sirus front wings.
@gaeldaniele

@@johanntiedemann987 I personally spoke with a Gong technical advisor in the last days and he mentioned that every front wing has been specifically designed to be balanced with certain stabs. This means that, as long as you are using one of the recommended stabs with your 186, your foil should be balanced just like the other Sirus, and therefore be usable with the kluber 80. However, it is so complicated. There are so many factors into play: fuselage length, angle of attach of the wing, angle of attach of the stab... Hopefully I'll be able to test your exact wing with the kluber soon and I'll let you know
@gaeldaniele
@gaeldaniele 2 ай бұрын
Hey, I tried all the Sirus and I noticed that with the bigger ones (5XL, 3XL, XXL) paired with the Sirus L stab, I really had to put a lot of pressure in front to make them pitch down and keep the speed. Therefore, you might be right and perhaps the Gong 95 is better for big front wings and big stabs. However, I believe it mainly depends on the stab length (distance between front wing and tail), the stab volume and of course the technique. With a little bit of practice we can adjust our technique so that we are comfortable with the big sirus even with the Kluber 80 cm
@johanntiedemann987
@johanntiedemann987 2 ай бұрын
@@gaeldaniele Hi, would you think, that the stab XL would be better? The L Stab Has a length of 35,5cm and the XL is 40,5cm long. The XL stab is recommended by Gong for the XXL and bigger front wings. Maybe the length let's the foil balance better and let's you use a shorter Board.
