Green Star Polyps (GSP)! It grows extremely fast, hence why it’s on the back wall!

Thanks so much! And yeah give it a shot, Do it slowly over a few weeks to months and see if you notice your nutrients changing and how your corals react to it!

Oof - I’ve been using way more of the powdered foods. I didn’t realize they were that concentrated. Going to cut back on those now. Thanks!

Take it from someone who was mediocre on water params and ordered gonis. I lost like 6-7 frags of it while everything else looked great. I started dosing the 3 mains and some trace elements (i have a very heavy coral stock in a 15gal) then bop, goni has been opened ever since. An absolute dream come true. Good luck! I hope you do better research and have less downs then me lol

Some hobbyists say low to moderate lighting? Thats the first time ive ever heard that one! For flower pots? My understanding has been they need high amounts of light but not necessarily quite as intense as acros. (Shrugs) first time ive seen those on youtube. 👍

@@grandcanyonreefs I would have thought you would have some specific foods for Goni's (like the 2 Little Fishes or Fauna Marin) and some aminos. Plus, for me personally, I am going to stay away from big and small particle size. I wish I could get Oyster Feast (in the EU) as I think it has the best particle size range and I like Fauna Marins MinS because of the particle size and the small amount you need (it's probably the best value food on the market). Wish I could get Benepets (I did ship it here from the US once) as I think it doesn't raise nutrients but Fauna Marin has Coral Balance which I think is similar. Yeah so I guess I was just surprised by what you didn't have and that what you did use is pretty similar.

Your goniaporas look amazing I have a small frag and the polyps are open but they don’t extend far line yours even when I move it to different locations in the tank. Any tips?

Thanks! Stability is key! They like lower to medium light and pretty stable water parameters is what I’ve found!

Hello ! beautiful tank ! What is your LED schedule ? :)
@grandcanyonreefs
@grandcanyonreefs 11 ай бұрын
Thanks so much!! The ReefBreeder Photon V2+ peaks for about 5 hours at 9-9-85-43-85-85! But it’s also important to note my lights are mounted ~16” off the surface of the water! If your light is mounted at the more standard 10”-14”, I’d recommend around 7-7-70-35-70-70 for general LPS/SPS lighting schedule! That’s what I used to run it before I mounted my lights to the wall to raise them to the 16” point! Hope that helps some!!

I've had my first goni for just over a month or so and I can't seem to get it to fully open up like it was when I saw it at the store... I've moved it around the tank a few times but it's still in pretty high light I'll try to put it somewhere darker ... Max it'll open probablt 25-30 % ... Hasn't stopped my clown fish from hosting it though lol
@grandcanyonreefs

Hmmm interesting! I'd say just give it more time and stability, thats what Goni's love! And I love when my clowns host them too, so cool!!!

When mine start doing poorly nothing I do turns it around Sometimes they’re good for a few months On the other hand I have several that are doing great and there’s no issues but the smaller frag ones I get always have issues for some reason

Do they need to be put on bigger bases as they grow or will they continue to get bigger on the same plug or disk? Mine is currently on maybe a 2" disk and is starting to grow pretty good.
