@@Anita-kYou're a Ukraine defender? So you're against US and European meddling in Ukraine's affairs obviously. And how is Ukraine doing? I heard the ratio was 7:1 to 10:1 and now it's over 20:1. The country is floating on US tax money. They are literally begging for money all the time. Doesn't sound good does it?

Nope, they want it to be obliterated and erased of any economic value to ensure Russia doesn't benefit from it. Imagine a country full of'Ukraine defenders' playing make believe. Journalists are safer in Russia unless they try to get classified information. The Russians consider that espionage. That is what Assange in in prison for. The Russians are more tolerant of KZbinrs, in Russia bashing the Russian government. They are better than they were under the communists and better than Ukraine. Philips just does interviews with the man in the street, He has not been caught trying to get classified documents on Russian arms production like the Wall Street Journal reporter. If Phillips was in Ukraine, he would be abducted, tortured and killed. That seems to be the kind of government you support. We lost hundreds of thousands of British, American and Australian soldiers in WW II so we would not live under a government like that. We should focus on deterring a Russian attack on NATO, like we did in the Cold War, and not seek a nuclear war over a country like Ukraine.

@@cliffarroyo9554 Good old divide and conquer. When territory that currently is in West Ukraine was part of Austro Hungarian and German empire just before WWI they promoted Ukrainians to have some independence, so they would not strive to get back into Russian empire. Just read about Ukrainian independence wars 1917-1921, even back then there were many factions fighting. Faction that sided with Bolsheviks won this war and Soviet Ukraine was formed, but many defeated from West Ukraine fled into Hungary and Germany, where they got the same nationalistic ideas that led to WWII, and the rise of Stepan Bandera and his movement.

Thanks for posting Lira's article. He doesn't deny he did it, you'd think an innocent person would deny. Plenty of guilty people deny, so telling he doesn't. He does make a point about the hypocrisy though: all the BE KIND woke mob tend to only be kind to people who have the same ideology as they do. We all make mistakes, we all change our minds, we are all human, but for the mob, humanity is only allowed for their side of politics.

All the people in the comments section were talking about how cool your videos are. I agree with them, but I warned you to get the heck out of there because I knew Russia was not bluffing. Anyway, it was interesting because I think most of the Ukrainians you interviewed and most of your viewers at that time thought everything would be rainbows and puppy dogs but I tried to warn you about the reality of what was going to happen within 24 hours of February 24th, 2022.

Person who lived and left Crimea in 4:00AM morning of 28th February 2014 told me that Russian little green man already put border control posts, so even in 2014 I already knew things are getting real in Ukraine. to be hones I had no idea who was Stepan Bandera or that he is a national hero and has a huge following. Nor had I any idea that 2 weeks before Maidan coup Victoria Nuland already selected Yatsenyuk the next prime minister of Ukraine in the leaked phone conversation. Now after learning so much about Ukraine I realized it doesn't matter, only thing that matters is, who is stronger, who will survive? And time will tell answer to that question.

Conor, I like your video, but I have to disagree with your point (6:40): s*xual assault was *not* a lot easier to get away with. It's true that Lira was not prosecuted in criminal court, but that doesn't mean the college gave him a pass. Far from it. By the time LIra was at Dartmouth, s*xual assault was already a high-profile issue. It wasn't something colleges could just sweep under the rug. Colleges acted as judicial bodies in s*xual assault cases, but my guess is if the assault had been r*pe, the college would have handed the case over to the courts. Lira's case went before a college committee that heard the evidence and then convicted him and suspended him for a year. And then when he came back, he was ostracized by his fellow students. No, Lira did not get away with s*xual assault.

He was an American journalist who gave his own opinion about news that was in the public domain. He had round table discussions with intelligent people about the war, geopolitics, ethics and the economy. He did not report any Ukrainian military secrets. Reporting military secrets is something a democracy might arrest someone for. Lira was abducted, tortured and killed for opinions that Zelensky did not like. That is the behavior of a dictatorship and not a free and democratic society. Lira was first abducted by the secret police when be published a list of political opposition leaders who had been abducted and murdered. He said he feared his name might be added to that list and it was. It is immoral for us to support a regime who murders American journalists. That we are simply shows the moral decay of the West. This story is about our moral collapse. Neocons are trying to start WW III and get us all killed. Lira was against that. He never said he was happy about the Russian invasion and was not a fan of Putin. He was more concerned with how the US and the West was destroying itself. The discussions he held on geopolitics and economics were on a higher intellectual level than his "Coach Red Pill" ones. Those seemed to be him practicing psychology without and training. He seamed to just repeating what many other KZbinrs were saying. It looked like he was trying to make money on KZbin and found a niche. When the war started, he began commenting on that and its implications. He could have done that from anywhere since he was providing commentary. He was foolish to stay in a country where he believed the government is dominated like Nazis and behaves like Nazis towards any criticism. He probably thought his American citizenship would protect him. He ended up proving his case at the cost of his life.

There is no misogyny. It's just this youtuber's emotional response to Gonzalo spitting facts. Gonzalo often criticized western women and their bad behavior albeit in a crude, vulgar manner. Apparently, calling out women for bad behavior is misogyny and hate speech. Gonzalo may have had an abrasive, crude style and made some piss poor life decisions. But he often said things that were true. In all fairness, Gonzalo also criticized men for being cowards or corrupt.
@theplasmacollider6431

"He was particularly rude and abusive towards women on his channel". Actually he was calling out certain kinds of women. Yes he was vulgar and crass, but much of what he said is spot on about many western women today. There clearly is a problem with western women today and Gonzalo addressed that. That's why he had a following. Also, Conor makes the same kind of argument and uses the same language here that the feminists do. The argument is that if Gonzalo talks ill of certain types of women therefore he's talking ill about all women. You wouldn't bat an eyelash if someone talked ill of Nazis and then say that that person therefore hates all men. Ultimately, it seems Connor is throwing ad hominems around while disregarding what is actually being said even if it's being said by a fat 50 year old sexpat.

@@ConorClyneTsarExperience Your ad hominem attack may work on the emotional and feeble minded, but it won't work on logical people. Him being a supposed sexpat, misogynist, etc... is irrelevant. His points are still true in regard to many western women. You have not addressed that. The fact that you haven't addressed it and probably don't even think it's a problem is why frustrated men in the west will continue to gravitate towards so called "sexpats" like Gonzalo. You can use the language of feminists all you want and redefine the problem as misogyny so that it's not a problem in your own head. That still doesn't change the fact that it exists and will explode at some point.

He was lying about his own personal life (his wife had long left him years back along with the kids) and what was going on around him in Ukraine with the war - ‘liar Lira’. Lira was living in Ukraine where divorce is higher and fertility is lower than in the US. There are way more single moms here (Lira’s own Ukrainian wife was one) than in North America yet no radical feminism. The two aren’t so strongly correlated it turns out. Just because he appealed to frustrated guys and gave them scapegoats (women, the West, Ukrainians, Zelenskyy etc) doesn’t change who he objectively was - an obese sexpat charlatan. I wouldn't trust ANYTHING Lira told about himself or said by others, over youtube and social media. Not in regards to his doings in Ukraine. His entire image is all founded over youtube interactions. Everything, including addressing his situation by The Tucker Carlson's, is all based on information running around youtube/twitter etc. As he is clearly a natural scam artist, and very much evolved by 2022, he managed to promote and maintain a fantastic and multi layered public personality image: all based on... "Gonzalo said"... That's all. "Gonzalo said" is about what we know about his actions in Ukraine. He seemed to me an extremely unreliable fantasist already at the 3rd or 4th time I heard him back in early 2022. He had a great sense for spotting other scam artists... which is logical as con men can easily see through cons run by others. But he was never reliable in anything else he said. The Duran people were asked by their paying supporters several times about how sure they were about his story and gave back diplomatic type of answers. Which didn't convince me at all. The fact that Lira was a regular host at the "Duran" was the main reason he was considered a reliable source by so many... It was a magical circle... Why is Lira a great sourse? Because the mighty Duran host him! Why is the Duran such a reliable souse? Well... they have specialists like Lira regularly at their panel...

Also, in minute 38:30 of your video, Gonzalo was not "let go" by the SBU after his first arrest. Gonzalo Lira already had a college education was was very good as selling himself. He was also a fiction writer (though I hear not a very good one), so the fiction could also be extended to the filed of economics, which - if we are honest here (and I have a BS degree in it, but don't hold it against me) - anyone with a little time and effort can grasp the basic understanding of economics and comment on it as if they too were "experts". Same goes for all things IT - once upon a time, its secrets jealously guarded, now open to anyone. Could you speculate why Ukraine does not have conscription of men or women under the age of 27? There is some discussion in Ukraine of reducing the age to 25. Why aren't younger, stronger Ukrainian men and women joining the military in defense of their country which is under assault? In the Battle of Leningrad during WWII, Russian women fought alongside men to defend their city. Now Volgograd, Mamayev Kurgan The Motherland Calls. Israel requires a 2 year commitment for women and men to join the IDF to defend their country. Is it egalitarian or misogynist to say that women are not good enough or smart enough to be soldiers? Why not conscript women as well as men? Israel has Universal conscription for all genders and is a serious military force as a result.
