I fucking love how Joel lets people post his music without any repercussions. It's one of the most commendable things about the guy. Some of his best work (in my own opinion) doesn't even get officially released, but people are still able to get it via posting by third parties and Joel allows them to do it. What a great dude.

Its an oldschool way of thinking. Back in the day, you got popular from word of mouth and sharing. Sure big media releases reach a larger audience, but these unreleased songs, reach the real fans creating an almost cult following. Deadmau5 of course has past that cult following to be sure, but this keeps him rooted to how it all began

So many times I find Deadmau5 tracks that were later split into 2 or 3 separate songs. The released versions always sound more complete and whole. Some of his recently released songs feature melodies from many years back. It's like he has this child growing until it's ready to get out there.
@emberleblanc87083 жыл бұрын
He actually explained this in a Q&A somewhere. He has this thing on his PC that he likes to call "the vault" which is basicly where he stores a bunch of unfinished melody's and sounds that he liked, but couldn't figure out what to do with it. every so often, he'll go to his "vault" to play around with some of these old things :)
