It's wild that the Goo Goo Dolls play in such wild guitar tuning. This is very helpful and a great cover in standard tuning! I can pause and rewind all day but I would love a break down of the chords you play.

I definitely plan to do this. As beautiful as the original sounds, it's great to not have to tune your guitar into a black hole in order to play it. I try to make an effort to play and sing every day, even for just 10-15 minutes. For these covers, I'll play the guitar parts over and over until I'm comfortable with them. Then I'll spend a few days fine tuning the vocals.
