I've read somewhere that this is about an encounter between a traveling businessman and a run-away prostitute. That makes perfect sense. One of R.E.M.'s most underrated songs.

I got here via your Hüsker Dü covers, which are brilliant! This is one of my favourite R.E.M. songs, and you really did it justice! Great job! Thx!

Thank mate. One of my favorites too.

Thanks mate. The main progression is E, D, A, Cm#, Bm. I've always played this with open strings and it sounds great on the 12-string. A few months ago after watching a video on YT of REM playing this live, I transposed the E, D and the A to the middle section of the neck (frankly it doesn't sound that different). Cheers!

Just splendid. Utterly devine, as you play that tightrope balancing line of both staying true to the original while also making it your own.

Just in case you look for perfectionism, I warn you that some of the chords on my version may not be accurate. But it sound great to me this way.

wow, you made a great cover! The guitar section is outstanding! This has been my favorite song for years. Yeah, it's about fast hook ups in general, but I love the way Stipe describe it in a sad way. "I'd like it here if I could leave and see you from a long way away" = pure poetry I'm a songwriter, I'd be very happy if you listen to my songs. Greetings from Brazil!

Any chance of getting your chord progression? Tab? This is one of my favorites and the chord forms are beyond me
@AnotherBadSpeech9 жыл бұрын
brainmed Sorry, don't do tabs. The main progression is E, D, A, Cm#, Bm. Use open strings so that E=079900; D=x00700; A=x07600; Cm#=xx6650
