R.E.M. Good Advices guitar cover.
Recorded with a Shure sm57 mic, Orange CR120H set to Clean channel and an Orange PPC 2 x 12 cab. Mics went into a Steinberg UR22 which then went into iMovie.

Hi Dead Letter...I recorded this using a Macbook pro. I actually just used the isight camera on the Macbook and recorded straight into imovie. Thanks about the Ric...no luck on finding it but I did get a replacement.

Man, I've always loved this song. Quintessential early R.E.M. at their peak before slowly evolving a more traditional pop rock sound. Love the killer bass throughout by Mike. Great example of how Peter's guitar always served the song or the melody (kind of a Johnny Marr approach), with a beautiful mix of strumming and arpeggios. Great video. Guitar sound is spot on. Thanks.

Great rendition! So did you record this from an iDevice or external camera? I'm trying to get better visual quality than my Cannon camera. Also, sorry to hear about your Ric--hope you got the Serial Number and were able to give it to the Police. Ric keeps a database of the serial numbers, so it may turn up!

Could you explain the second and third chords in the introduction?

+David Zahn Sure thing David! So the first chord PB is playing is an E chord at the 7th fret but with the B & E strings open. The second chord looks like this: -------0------- -------0------- -------7------ -------9------ -------0------ -------x------ The third chord is just an A chord played at the 5th fret but again, with the B and E strings open.
