During these warmer times after a hard day grafting outside for a current price of 2.99 a 4 pack of these is quite the treat for way less than a pint down the battle cruiser which, when on a shoe string budget is quite a god send. I applaud Aldi and Lidl for genuinely helping us eat well and have a beer affordably when every other c#nt in the world seems happy to be screwing us harder and harder.

I picked up a 4pack of these at lidl yesterday,,,, 440ml for only £3.19 and guess what! This is by far my favourite beer out there its fuckin delicious bro

No Longer good or cheap, cans are now 440ml in size and strength of the lager is reduced to 4.6%. Now retailing at £3.59 - Not so Lidl on price but definitely Little on value from Lidl

Picked a 4 pack up today. Been stripped of cash because of all this covid19 stuff. Took my chances as enjoyed the perlenbacher pils. This is great with food. Started with 1... Ended up having 3 cans of it. Really refreshing and the price is amazing. Thanks for the review. Life isn't all about the super hyped expensive stuff eh.

Might I add as someone who loves a cheeky, snobby craft beer from the likes of Verdant, Deya, Cloudwater et al that I've always been partial to a jar of the old Artois but it slowly slipped from 5.2 to 5, to 4.8 and now 4.6....i'd have a 4 pack of these over old Stella any day of the week now.

Do you have galahad cans from Aldi over there, we have it here in Ireland, 73 cents a can, very cheap, but quite an acquired taste, first one is difficult but when you have eight to drink, it soon tastes better lol

Ingredients - well, you have a German run organisation selling beer with the imprint 'traditional beer'. Without further looking at things i would say the ingredients are water, barley, hops and yeast. ;) and nothing else..

Not so cheap today. Bought 4x cans pack 440m 4.8% for £4.25 at Lidl. From Tesco bought on same day bought 4x cans pack 500ml 4.8% McEwan’s export £3.99 so I was ripped off by my local Lidl. And the McEwan’s is a better quality beer in my humble opinion.

To be pedantic in correcting your comment.....In England it's 2.99 for 4 x 500ml @ 4.8%, whereas McEwans has a little lower ABV (4.5%) for 3.99. And the styles are different so not comparable.

@@FatherDinny I bet you're the kind of bloke who drinks beer (and any other alcoholic beverage) for the sake of their alcohol content! I don't drink crappy beers, I only drink decent German beers, which I either order from Germany or buy online at retailers that stock German beers among others. FYI, I had to google alco pops, as I didn't even know what that shit was, leave alone drinking it.
